See, the left hand to the body is the punch a lot of people are thinking Hatton can hurt Manny with, but this is Pacquiao's second straight camp where he and Roach have been dealing with a fighter that is mostly dangerous with the left hand not the right hand. This should be an advantage to have already spent the last camp working on negating the left hand.

That depends on how effectively he can actually catch Manny.

The only punch that Oscar through with authority the whole match was the right hand, which is weak. He never threw the left hook hard... and his jab was pathetic. I'm sure the weight had something to do with it, he just couldn't pull the trigger.

Either way, that right hand didn't hurt Manny at all IMO.

and hatton is very much aware of that jeff. But the question is would he be able to get inside and deliver that left hook to the liver against the fastest hands in the business today?

Manny is going to use lateral movement and it will be a very big advantage to him not getting caught flush. In Hatton/Mayweather, Floyd did not use much lateral movement till the last 3 or 4 rounds and it gave Hatton fits. Hatton has quick feet, but he better have worked on cutting off the ring extensively or he'll have trouble from the first round on.

Hatton will land on Manny at some point because I fully expect him to go into the ring fully healthy, unlike Oscar De La Hoya. Manny Pacquiao is not an elusive target, he usually gets hit when he steps in the ring with a world caliber fighter, and May 2nd will be no exception. If he takes Hatton's best shots then that is wonderful, but if he doesn't, either way this threads question would have been answered.

    Manny is no Mayweather.

And Roach and Manny are very aware of that, lol. Everyone picking Hatton is talking about Hatton being stronger. You know what, I'm not convinced he's much stronger. Pacquiao has benefited from moving up in weight, whether his opponents offered a lot of resistance or not, it's easy to see. Even if Hatton is stronger I feel Paquiao's speed can counter-act Hatton's strength. Timing Manny is not as easy these days either, as he has started to fully use his athleticism with his improved overall body movement. Hatton is not the most accurate puncher, he's not a counter-puncher, and I don't know if he'll have an improved jab or not, but these things are what would trouble Manny, and I don't see Hatton having the ability to take advantage of any of this as of now.

One thing you can't fault Hatton on Jeff is his jab. He has a good one even though he lunges behind it a little too much sometimes.

That's not the point. Of course, he does not fight like Floyd. Floyd can go backwards and fight off the ropes and make his opponents miss. Manny does not fight this way, but this does not change the fact that Manny's utilizing of lateral movement will give Hatton problems. If by chance Hatton does get him on the ropes, I'm quite sure he's worked hard on moves to get himself out of the way quickly.
