I feel Hatton's strength and his own fast feet will play more of a factor than Manny's lateral movement. Ricky can close the distance, and he can bully Pacquiao because he is physically the stronger man.

Just watched that punch. "Quite hurt" is a reach, he took it well and immediately circled out and then landed a sweeping left to the body followed by two straight lefts.

Let me find Oscar's best punch of the fight... right hook to the body around the sixth...

And I'm saying he would have to use the jab for the full fight, but there is also the point to be made that Manny's been focusing on negating his opponent's left hand for the second straight fight.

When Hatton does come in like that, he comes in very square. He was still doing it in the Malignaggi fight. I'm not sure that will change.

I don't think Hatton needs to use a jab to be successful in this fight. I think he can bully himself inside, and do some work. I'm not confident that Manny can take body shots from a full 140lb, and May 2nd will be unknown territory for the Man from Manilla.

i remember seeing oscar getting destroyed for 9 rounds and quitting, who cares if he landed a punch in the 4th.( its boxing it happens) manny is a savage and its an amazing boxer. wow he got punch!!!!!!!!!! bottom line ,, manny stream roll oscar in ****ing style. manny couldnt of got hurt by any of oscars punches(maybe a liitle). he was train by one of the best and was 199% ready to kill Golden boy. So ****ing fast, punches great. hes just unreal. i think he might give hatton a run for this money. But hatton is a warrior bottom line. so much heart in the ring. Going to be a war.

How are you so sure he's stronger? Hatton has quick feet, but he does not have the balance and agility of Pacquiao, who's feet are at least as fast. Banking on strength against superior speed and skill, I would not bet on it beating the latter, if in fact the strength difference is as great as people think.

If Hatton does not work his way in with a jab to try and blind Manny with it, he's going to have a lot of trouble.

I'm not banking on just Hatton's strength. He will be hitting harder than any of Manny's opponents down at 130lb, the last time he was really hit and hurt against Juan Manuel Marquez, and Ricky can put together good sharp combination's to body and head. His fast feet will allow him to close the distance, and if he does use his jab, he should be able to get inside without taking to much leather himself. When he is on the inside, he has shown the ability to put together great combinations to body and head, and bigger fighters than Manny have crumbled under similar onslaught.

Floyd didnt use his feet in untill he soften Hatton up, he couldnt just keep him at distance, Hatton has fast feet, he stood there with Hatton because he had too. Floyd's footwork is way better than Manny's and so is his defense, Manny wont be able to keep Hatton off him for more than 5-8 seconds at a time, Pac isnt Whitaker. Pac often goes straight back with his hands high around his head, he will get punished for this. I hope Pac has learned to fight on the inside, which ive never seen him do, because hatton will be on top of him for as long as it last.

Hatton's not going to be getting inside at will. When the Pacquiao lead left comes down the middle and tags him, he won't be rushing quite as easy.

2:28 of the fifth. That body shot from Oscar definitely got Manny's attention.

I don't think Hatton will feel the effect of the Manny's punches as many seem to think he will. I see Ricky getting in close whenever he likes, because he has the strength and fast feed to close the distance and stay there.

This is a huge factor IMO. Hatton will put Pac in similar situation to the one's he put Floyd in. Difference is Floyd can make you miss while your right on top of him and he can fight on the inside. Pac doesnt posses this ability.

You've got to put an excellent jab on him, and be a good counter-puncher to take advantage of it. Hatton is nothing like Marquez either. I know this is Manny's biggest weakness, but taking advantage of it is another thing.
