That's why he's got to keep it in the center of the ring and move to his left, away from Hatton's left hand.

If Manny does move straight back, the punch the he is most open to be hit with is the straight right, not Hatton's best punch.

He doesnt only jump back from a jab, often when the other fighter puts themselves on the offensive he jumps straight back until they finish. Pac will be on the back foot all night,on the ropes all night, he better had learned how to fight on the inside.

He wont keep the fight in the center of the ring, Hatton wont let him. Floyd couldnt even keep it in the middle of the ring, you have to stand there and fight Hatton.

I can't see him being pushed to the ropes that often.

Hatton did not force Floyd to do anything. Floyd has fought that way late in his career.

Why? When has Pac showed such excellent footwork to prevent this? He will be on the back foot the entire fight. Hatton did it to Floyd whom has way better defense and footwork than Pac.

I am definitely not prone to conspiracy theorising but I cannot get these ideas out of my head as well.

Against who? There were periods where Floyd has just laying on the ropes with Ricky because that's where he was forced. If he could get away from Hatton from the jump he would have. He waited until he did damage and Ricky didnt have the same energy to come in as fast as he was earlier in the fight. He did this for a reason, Vs Baldomir Floyd just used lateral movement because Baldo wasnt as fast with his feet.

Hatton is not the same fighter he was before Floyd knocked him out. Floyd Sr. may teach him a few things, but I don't think it will be enough.

What is suspicious about Oscar showing up as a zombie? You do realize Oscar always get messed up mentally in his biggest fights due to nerves right? And he knows **** ring intelligence wise. He would have been confused whether he was drained or not. I picked Pacquiao to win the fight when it was first talked about. There's plenty of reasons why.

I don't remember Floyd looking "forced" into much of anything in that fight. He looked like the stronger man in the ring to me from round one, and he didn't mind being on the inside because a) his defense is impeccable and b) he was perfectly comfortable grappling with Hatton and using his front shoulder. And then when he felt Hatton tiring, he started creating distance and sharpshooting him.

Pacquiao would be crazy to just let Hatton inside, because obviously he's not Mayweather. I agree that he's going to have to use much more of himself early to get that distance, but I'm not at all convinced it will be impossible, especially given Floyd Sr. wanting Hatton to use "smart" pressure instead of just running in.
