Are you able to show up late without having to fight for a decent seat? I'm on the west coast and the PPV event is scheduled to start at 6pm. What is a good time to show up? Mainly just interested in showing up right before Matthysse and Garcia

Noob-go to a bar where real fans enjoy a pint and the fights instead of popcorn and kids.

Nah, he could do what I did back in the day - just sneak some hooch into the theater and take a nip as needed!

It really just depends on how big a boxing community your area has. I live in South Carolina and the one time I tried it in the theater(Mayweather vs Ortiz) only thirty people or so were there and most came in at the end. I'm guessing you'll probably have more people on the West Coast besides that the event itself is a bigger one.

I'm curious about this too, the two cinemas downtown are sold out, the one I'm going to (about 3 miles outside downtown) still has tickets, I don't know how many except it's at least 10.

going to a movie theater in this day and age to watch boxing is equal to going to a movie theater in the 70's to watch a porn

Have you ever been? I'm partially going out of curiosity (cinema with people cheering? Interesting ...) but it might be awesome. The only problem is that AFAIK the cinema doesn't offer booze (some of the downtown ones do), I'm going to sneak some in but I prefer a more raucous crowd. At a bar you'll have to deal with struggling to get a view, having to spend a bucketload on booze. At home, my friends aren't in to boxing so I'd have to split $75 between two and wouldn't have the atmosphere that a larger crowd offers, so I'm happy with the cinema.

It looks like the one I'm going to has been sold out which might suck. I will probably show up around 7...

IF you are a "casual" I suggest skipping the Molina/Smith fight & walking in on or during the Matthysse/Garcia fight. Good luck.

Does your cinema sell booze? You'll have an amazing atmosphere.

My friend doesn't want to go for 3.5 hours so we're going to a pub nearby and heading to the cinema in the middle of Smith-Molina. Hoping we get good seats.
