The thing you forget it that Jones weakness was always his chin even from a young age.He was an expert at covering it up with skill and speed and basically getting into his opponents heads.Calzaghe had huge power when he was younger.Prime for prime sooner or later Calzaghe would land a big shot maybe not as many times as Jones but Calzaghe has the better chin by a long long way.

If you think Jones' weakness was his chin, that tells me that you know nothing about a prime Jones. When he was in his prime, his chin wasnt weak at all. His chin was never questioned, noy once. & no one can recall ever seeing a prime Jones hurt. Even when he got knocked down by Devalle, he wasnt hurt.

Calzaghe was a puncher, but never a huge puncher, and was typically always one to rely on accumulation rather than one punch power. And you have nothing to back up that Jones's chin was a weakness from a young age, as that was never proven until he started to physically deteriorate. Calzaghe has likely always had the better chin, but Jones's recooperative abilities and ability to stay away from danger while keeping others in danger would be Calzaghe's issues in this fight. Jones was also a master ring general whose unorthodoxy caused opponents workrates to drop drastically, similarly to how Hopkins was doing to Calzaghe early on in their fight, and that version of Hopkins lacks a lot of the tools Jones would possess. I can't see Calzaghe not being caught with flush counters throughout the fight.

Jones never had any chin problems in his prime, I cant even remeber seeing Jones ever being hurt in his prime. The knockdown by DeValle, he wasnt even hurt. Jones in his prime probably had a better chin than Joe. Jones wouldve really cut Calzaghes output in half in his prime. And all that pressure wouldve just lead to a big counter punch that wouldve been lights out for Calzaghe

Jones never had a better chin than Calzaghe, let's not go overboard here.

how can you say that when in their primes Jones fought bigger punchers & was never hurt & only dropped 1 time? im not for sure, but how are you sure that calzaghe had the better chin?

All depends on opposition, has Calzaghe been hit by many light heavyweights?, guys in their primes?, the answer is no, has he ever been hit by a heavyweight?, the answer remains a no.

I am so sick of how everyone keeps talking about Jones and Toney. Toney had to loss 47 lbs for that fight and was at his absolute worst ever, while Jones was at his best. And in the end, he really didn't do **** to Toney. Toney said it the best, "if Jones was so great, he should have KO'd me (Toney) due to the shape I was in that night."

What does it prove about Jones's chin when he rarely if ever took flush punches, especially power punches? All it proves is that he was a better, quicker fighter, especially defensively. It proves absolutely nothing about his chin. Gimme a ****ing break. I'm on Jones's side here and you guys are making me defend Calzaghe with your ridiculous assertions.

At his worst ever? Even worse than he was for Dave Tiberi? You remember, the nobody that schooled Toney and got robbed? Worse than he was for Drake Thadzi? Likewise.

Toney was chronically flat-footed, he'd never have fared much better against a super fast mover like Jones. Toney's an excuse ridden, lazy fat ass, of course he's gonna talk ****.

Thats funny considering that he won world titles in four weight classes, beat great fighters like Nunn, McCallum, Barkley, Prince Charles Williams, Vassiliy Jirov and Holyfield. Not bad for a fat lazy guy huh! Say what you want, but when you compare Toney and Jones, think of this; Toney is older than Jones, had many more fights than Jones, abused his body more than Jones, fights naturally much bigger guys than himself and yet has never been close to being Ko'd or even beaten up. Can you say the say for Jones? Do you think Tarver would have KO'd Toney? Do you think Glenn Johnson would have KO'd Toney?

And then there is the crack head that you have as your avitar.

Jones completely schooled Toney and shut him out, rendering all of your points moot. And I'll take a fighter who actually had a full arsenal that happened to be addicted to cocaine than a flat-footed lazy ******* that happened to be addicted to Burger King.
