But there is a reason that I did- this guy (once named doublesuited) has actualy got some good posters here taking him seriously (dont know why), and I dont want my threat going that way. If I have to contradict myself and react to him to save my thread, I will do so.
Dont know why either Its a sickness in this forum...they know hes a troll ..been trolling for years but still they feel the need to respond to this ******
Awesome thread. Arguello is VERY underrated; especially by newer generations. I would also take Arguello (at 130) in a 15 rounder over Floyd. Hell, I think I would favor him in 12 also
If Arguello were around today he would be critisized no end by todays standards. IMO watching him fight was like watching paint dry. Very limited in his offensive aresenal, very basic in his technique. Did everything fundamentally well, but nothing exceptional. The few fights of his I watched, I didn't even make it to the end they were that bad. Technically he was vastly inferior to todays standards, and I have no doub the could not match it with the best guys from the current era.
I know that double suited is nothing but a troll, but in this case I would tend to agree. Watch tape side by side. Now please tell me what Arguello (AFTER WATCHING FOOTAGE SIDE BY SIDE PLEASE) is going to do to Diaz that Freitas or Julio Diaz couldn't do? Provided Juan handled the small move up in weight I would pick him every time to beat Arguello.
I dont this this is a joke post, like the one from the other thread- so I will just go ahead and say that I disagree with everything you just said. His use of distance is masterful. He slipped punches very well, smooth and subtle head movement is underated on this forum sometimes. He was also great at picking off punches with his gloves. Offensively, he punched beautifuly, and with power. How could you not like it. His jab was stiff, his right hand textbook, and his left uppercut (especialy after slipping an opponents lead jab or straight right hand) was a thing of beauty. On top of that, he did all this with accuracy.
To the poster who said he looks like Monzon, i would tend to agree also. Monzon = Overrated BIGTIME. Very similar as fighters though. I can't stand when the fighters from previous generations get ridiculously over rated.
Read his last joke post a bit more thoroughly, especially when I called him out, what did he say he was going to do?
Very one dimensional IMO. Jab, jab jab, right cross. It was consistent, but not fast or particularly powerful. Very predictable in his offense. Like i said great fundamentals, I just don't see what he could do that top guys would not have seen 100 times before. I honestly don't rate him what so ever.
I see Arguello jabbing Diaz silly, and dropping enough big right hands on him coming in to disuade him from fighting like we are used to seeing him fight. I think you vastly underate Arguello.
