    He threw the fight.

Even as a hardcore Ali fan I can acknowledge this.

Yeah, he also shattered Bonavena's and Foreman's glass jaws.

I've never been able to decide one way or the other on that punch.

I don't think it puts Liston in the Khan category, though, even if it's real. It looks more potent than the one Foreman got Moorer with, IMO.

It seems that way, watched it the other day and its farcical. That said the punch that Martin landed on Sonny did not look that hard either and I dont think he threw that one.

I still don't understand why Sonny even got up and and fought for five more seconds after the knockdown.

Does Dempsay have an Amir Khan chin?

He got sparked out in one by a fireman or dustman or something.

A lot of shots that don't look devestating are effective. Watching closely , you can see Listons head snap a bit from a punch he never saw.
I must admit though, that it appeared that Liston was doing a bad acting job trying to be convincing about his ability to get right up.

guys the punch was solid and without doubt put liston down. liston though said afterwards that he didnt want to get up with a "crazy man" standing over him who wold have hit him on the way up. SO i dont think the fight was pre fixed, liston quit on the floor.. Add to this the incompetence of jersey joe walcott as a ref and u have the perfect ingredients for paranoid fix stories

More experienced FireMan Jim Flynn knocked out a novice Dempsey.
Jack returned the favor in a rematch.

it was something like the referee had trouble getting ali to a neutral corner and had to be informed by someone at ringside hat he didnt make the ten count, think it was the ring magazine editor at the time,

remember hearing it discussed on a Ali dvd

Dempsey notoriously took a dive in that fight. See the Monte Cox article on the matter. Dempsey won the rematch via 1st round KO.

he threw the fight, he was just waiting for a semi clean shot to land so he could fall.

**** he even started to get up and realized the ref didnt get to 10 yet and rolled back over lol.

Anchor punch scrubs. You people know nothing about boxing. The Ali vs Liston thrown fight argument is some thing that a racist 1960's media & press sold to millions of people who hated Ali. and even today when you watch the fight you clearly see Listons foot come foff the ground when contcact was made. it was fast and brisk. Too fast for guys like you to see.
