No he's not. He made a perfectly reasonable point and you decided to get defensive about it. His comment said nothing about JuanMa's previous fights yet you felt the need to bring them up.

Yep, and Barros is no big puncher.

Bull****. I always said Gamboa is a KO waiting to happen. He is very, very good but overhyped. He won´t become the greatest Cuban ever and he is too cocky to not getting knocked out in the not too distant future.

It has not to do with Gamboa not knocking Barros out but how he looked in that fight. Barros was pretty slow compared to Gamboa and is overall a mediocre fighter but still managed to tag him with lefts and rights at times and even had Gamboa hurt and clinching after that for the rest of the round.

how is saying "juanma likes what he see's" a reasonable point?? its not a "point" at all, its merely a crybaby fan craving for a first round KO and didnt get what he wanted. while i am overracting a bit i just cant stand it when people automatically assume the worst when a fighter doesnt look like a prime mike tyson in every fight. it just goes to show you how some people cant appreciate good boxing

Well, yea of course I do, but still he took a pretty flush shot and he didn't react to well. May'be chinny isn't the right word yet, but still there have to be question marks about his chin.

well he may not have a chin made of space aged titanium, but what he did after he got knocked should answer some questions. hes got good recooperative abilities

His boxing was ok but not amazing. Let's not forget the level of his opponent. He looked lacklustre, his defense was very dodgy and if he performed in the same way against JuanMa im sure JuanMa would be confident of the win. That's a reasonable point in my eyes. You seem to be the only one jumping to conclusions here somehow getting the impression that people think he is a bum because he didn't KO him. I'm pretty sure his comment was referring to the errors Gamboa made in his boxing tonight.

Let me give a good break down of the fight which I saw. Gamboa seemed to be " practicing some defense " for what I observed. He actually did a " great defensive job " all 12 rounds as Barros was throwing and throwing and totally missing easily. Gamboa seemed " not very interested " in stopping Barros as he only thru 1 or 2 punches at a time and that's not the Yuriorkis that we know!

The thing that I did'nt like at all was Gamboa turning " lefty " for no reasons and then turning back to his right handed form. Barros was tough and pretty good schooled with kinda good power, but Gamboa once again lowered his hands a lot in this fight, something that he has'nt totally left yet as a professional...

Gamboa had him clearly hurt and down in round 7 or 8 but let him continue as saying go ahead let's keep on fighting. He did'nt show any interest in KO'ing Barros neither tried to throw many combos like he always does...

He got cut in between his eyebrows by a headbutt but was mild. That cut could present problems for him in the future this is why a boxer should'nt let his opponent recuperate from a knockdown...

Still, Gamboa showed " excellent defense " something that he has'nt showed us before as Barros had a " extremely hard time trying to hit him ", Barros did landed a good solid punch to Yuri's face and wabbled him momentarily, it's known now that Gamboa does'nt have a granite chin like Casamayor had but he also does'nt have a glass chin...

Gamboa won by UD and Barros most likely did'nt win a round. Afterall, Barros is a tough cookie that was undefeated and was not scared of Gamboa at all. Even though Gamboa failed to give us his special " electrifying KO'es " he still managed to beat a very tough undefeated fighter and did it easily, sometimes looked like a sparring session...

Good solid win for the Cuban but could have been even better!

Seemed to me that Gamboa was not too interested in this fight...

I do think that Gamboa saw this fight as a way of experimenting some new tricks and it backfired a little. I wouldn't expect him to be as passive against a higher level opponent. I also think he would cover himself up more against a bigger hitter too.

Good breakdown of the fight. My thoughts exactly. :good A couple of people are going way overboard about how this guy beats him, or this guy is licking his chops or whatever. Gamboa got some rounds in and just carried his opponent. He had nothing to prove and he did show nice defense. This was a nice well rounded performance by Gamboa. Not his best, but solid and it got the job done.
