    [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"I know I’m a huge underdog against Oscar De La Hoya,” said former IBF super featherweight champion Stevie Forbes today in a national teleconference. “But once the bell rings, you’re going to see a live dog. I’m way above any level I’ve ever been at it before.” On May 3 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., televised on HBO, Forbes, 33-5, 9 KOs, will take on De La Hoya, 38-5, 30 KOs, in a 12-rounder at 150 lbs. Forbes says he is not concerned about being the smaller guy. “I’m used to fighting big guys,” said Forbes. “I got used to that when I was on The Contender. But, if you’ve noticed, no one has been able to bull me around the ring yet. I’m bringing defense, smarts and fearlessness into the ring. I’m looking forward to matching my wits against someone like Oscar. This is going to be a big mental fight, but I see myself winning.”

    You go boy!!!:good :lol::lol::lol:

    It's really hard to imagine a guy who lost to Grady Brewer doing much against Oscar. I think this is Cotto/Gomez II.

    You're probably right, but we can all dream for at least the sake of breaking up the PBF/DLH fight.

    He has no chance

    How the hell can he win this fight. The judges aren't going to do **** for him. He can't hurt or even stun the bigger man at all, he's got no power. He's gonna be on the backfoot against the marquee name

    It will never last 12 anyway

    Forbes is a good guy. I know he's going to take a beating but I'm glad Oscar is giving him this payday. Especially after GBP made sure D-Hop would win.:yep

    lets take a jump out of reality.
    forbes could hypothetically outbox dlh easliy, beat him to the punch and outland him 2-1.

    but who does not beleive the judges have already marked the scorecards in this one in anticipation of all the money from dlh v mayweather 2.

    Prime Cotto is much more dangerous than Old Oscar, and don't even think about comparing Forbes to Gomez. :nono

    It's a looooooooooooooooooong shot, but far less of one than Cotto-Gomez.

    Forbes fights nothing like Sturm.

    For Steve I'm sure that's a holy grail payday though. I'm happy for him win lose or draw. I'll be ECSTATIC for him with anything other than a loss, though. :yep

    Oscar is a greedy *******? :scaredas:
