David Haye stole it so he could splice his DNA with a heavyweight who actually stood a chance against wlad.
PacWeather NEEDS to happen. Both men will suffer from notoriety for many years to come if it doesnt happen. Boxing's entire P4P ranking perspective is bent around this.
Nah. If Pacquiao had quit while he was ahead and cut off his weight-jumping at lightweight, this would have never even been brought up. It would have been relegated to the fantasy fights in the Classic forum - "what if Mayweather from his LW (or lighter) days had met up with Pacquiao?" etc. - and some people would say it was ridiculous to even consider. Neither needs it, there's just been an avalanche of hype behind it the last couple of years so it feels to most like something that's destined to happen. I literally couldn't care any less about it.
OH BOY! Just IMAGINE if both guys had to slug it out on each other! You're thinking of one having to fight a mirror image of himself. This is way different. This is fighting another sibling. First couple rounds would be reserved, but after they get comfortable, ALL the **** and any frustration of sibling rivalry (if there was any) will come out and i would expect a WW3 showing of no holds barred action! Believe me, i grew up with an older brother(by 3 yrs) in sports. We RARELY competed against each other, out of mutual respect. But the few times we did, i had a BIG chip on my shoulder and REALLY went out of my way to beat him any time i got a chance to, like in basketball. He never tried to wrestle me, lol. I would expect Wladimir to seriously tear into his older brother and hold NOTHING back once things start rolling.... but i honestly dont know if they got that type of animosity to each other
Vitali would try to keep it civilized and would ask for a "gentleman's agreement" to treat it as a light sparring session or an exhibition - and Wladimir would see red once the first bell rung and throw everything into his first right hand. Vitali would have no choice but to respond with his hardest arm punches. which are unfortunately for him nowhere near enough to test Wlad's chin. Wlad would stick his stiff jabbing arm in his brother's face, maybe even thumbing at his eye a little, and throw Right Hands From Hell as Vitali tries to use his old legs to escape the demonic fury of the little squirt he used to tease and bully. Finally, after three rounds of trying to counter off the backfoot, Vitali squares up and stands his ground, intent on delivering a message to his upstart kin. Try as he might, however, Dr. Ironfist can not beat the intrepid Dr. Steelhammer to the punch or find away around the pikeman's thrust of a jab to land clean, and learns the hard lesson that much has changes since they last shared a ring - he has aged and lost speed and reflexes, while his rival has greatly improved technically. He returns to the corner looking broken and emotionally betrayed, while 28 feet away Emanuel Steward screams orders laced with obscenity "YOU GOT TO ****ING FINISH HIM! AIM FOR HIS EYE!". Wladimir cuts his flesh and blood to ribbons with the sheer force of his blows and stops him one round earlier than Lewis. Klitschko TKO5 Klitschko
Voted for Mayweather. That fight is much more important for boxing as a sport than anything Haye could ever do. Mean no disrespect but that's how it is. Floyd - Pacman not happening would be a tragedy for our sport.
Than Klitschko-Haye, or Klitschko-Klitschko? In terms of international interest, outside the US and Philippines, Mayweather-Pacquiao would pale in comparison to the latter, IMO.
Ugh. I'm getting really sick of hearing this. Boxing was fine before talks of Mayweather-Pacquiao ever started, and still is. It's no longer a top mainstream sport in America, but it's a healthy niche market and will continue to be. That's just fine with me.
