Well my forearms look freakily bigger than ma biceps.

I tend to use a lot of ma power, be it weights or work etc on my forearm and elbow...cant be good.

Gimme some good advice on training the biceps, on there own if possible or with a better workrate than whatever other muscles are involved in the action.

I reckon more muscles in the bicep rather than the forearm will or could benefit me better, regarding plain endurance for example.

Bicep is holding the Forearm up aint it ?

    Simple Pullups will suffice ?

Bodi and a few others will surely have some thoughts on this.

    Would be appreciated.

close grip pullups are a good bodyweight exercise for the biceps but if your thinking of doing weights there are lots of curls you can do to work the biceps

Don't underestimate the importance of strong forearms. Grip strength and wrist stability are by products of a strong pair of forearms. When you make a good fist, which muscles do you feel tense up? Right, your forearms, and your bi's/tri's to an extent aswell.

As jimbo suggests above, close grip chinups are one of the better exercises for the biceps, but you will also work the forearms with this exercise as you will be gripping the bar. Same goes for most of my favoured arm exercises.

If you are really looking to isolate the two heads of the biceps, the Brachialis and the Biceps brachii, you need to focus on isolation movements (preacher curls, concentration curls etc).

Personally, I wouldn't advise you to isolate your biceps as it is my belief that there are better ways (chinups, rows etc). A lot of it is dependent on your actual goals - do you just want bigger biceps? If so, for sure, go down the isolation route, but if you are looking for transferable benefits to your chosen athletic endeavor, there will be better options.

Actually, the main working muscle of your upper arm is the tricep. The bicep is its little handy-dandy helper in the contractions. So if your going to really work on your biceps, I'd recommend working just as equally on the triceps.

    Good luck bud! :good

The biceps is the most overrated muscle in the human body if you ask me.

You're definately preoccupied about superficialities, and that's a girl thing.

Just work on becoming a good fighter and don't worry so much about having big biceps.

I have Popeye arms as well, big forearms compared to the biceps. Since I never isolated anything, I will just assume it has its use otherwise it would not have ended up like this. I did a lot of manual labor in the past, that probably caused it.

Ta for replys, just decided to ask as it DOES look freakily different.

Will just continue with what am doing but more, regarding chin ups etc.

Do i care of how they look to others ?

Yes to some extent but feeling good comes before looking good.
