I am sure you have caught him off-guard, i'm sure he wasn't expecting a question about Simon in this thread
Simon IS foreign, I think its a valid question.....;O) If he even gets within sniffing distance of a world title shot (esp with this tourney going on) then I'll be amazed.
I don't know much about him except I remember when he beat Wayne Alexander when Alexander was seen as a big prospect, very impressive. And he beat Wright by contraversial decision in Africa, though I never saw the fight. I've no idea how he'd far 14lbs north, but I'd think he'd have a good chance at any middleweights. He'd be favoured over Abraham IMO, due to his work-rate and I don't remember his chin or toughness ever being in doubt. Pavlik is a different story, completely different style and I might favour Pavlik slightly.
Good words, yes i wanted a reply, you dished one. Though i wonder/question your thoughts regarding Pavlik. He seems too straight forward to me, even the simple 1-2, of course i respect and do like him. I think Cal, would of "Lacey'd" Pav, i really do. Cheers......but what makes you question Simon to Pav ? Cheers :thumbsup
:thumbsup, Columbia, South Carolina TFFP/Gazoc, to be fair, a fighters as good as there last fight aye ? I ask again.....given this.........Harry Simon Vs the top Super Middles and Middles ? TFFP...........how do you see it ? Cheers
Based on this logic, I don't see any of the current crop of middles to super-middles giving Simon too many problems.
Under normal circumstances yes, whilst allowing for the effect of styles on how 'good' a fighter looks in his previous fight. However, when they've had one fight against a novice in the last two years, and seven fights in the last decade some doubts could be raised Besides, I didn't see his fight in 2007 to know how 'good' he was. At his prime I think he's a good shot at Abraham for the reasons I mentioned, Pavlik less so because Pavlik really does use his physical advantages well at middleweight, he's extremely long, hard hitting, and has a big output of punches. I havn't seen Simon at middleweight to know how he'd cope with that. At the moment I wouldn't give him much hope against either. A wild Chimpanzee could tell you with some degree of certainty that a man that has had seven fights in the last decade and has not fought in two years, is 38 years old and is stepping up to fight a world class middleweight...is a long shot. Just common sense, forget the names involved.
