not, it is not. for example tyson was a great fighter but he was very weak mentally. liston was a great fighter but he left the fight against ali, he was frustrated and he had no confidence in himself in the last rounds and foreman did show that he was a ****ing warrior when he was depressed and he did beat lyle by ko and he wanted to show against young that he might go to the distance .and he came back 10 years later and he won the belt again.(ali did it after to be retired 3 years and he was still 28 in 1970,and the people say wow the great ali, and foreman was retired during 10 years and he won the title in his 40s).

the problem with using sonny as an example is he was probably in his late 30s and was physically past prime. George still had many years left in him as he wa relatively young, sonny wasn't.

FOREMAN NEVER LEFT A FIGHT, EVEN IN HIS 40s,and the age is not matter we are talking about heart and who was mentally stronger, liston never had the heart of foreman, simple, joe frazier fought blind against ali in 1975 and he wanted fight. and like i said tyson was a great fighter and he was not strong mentally.foreman was 28 when he left the boxing in 1977, but he came back in 1987 to face mike tyson a hell of fighter(who wanted no part of george). marciano for example was retired when he was 32 and he never came back.

 

he was down twice in round 2...alex had to clear his head so yeah it makes good sense to keep away until you do..but 3rd round on alex warmed up to the fight and rearranged george's face..you don't run from george and adminster a beating like that...if that fight was a 12 rounder foreman would have lost easy or been stopped
