Foreman dead at 76, according to Instagram post

Aw man, one of my favourite fighters. The world is less than it was yesterday. RIP big man.

 

Yeah, Holmes did met Norton and Ali,but I don't know more.

Unrelated too but Norton is a quite interesting fighter,he came out of nowhere around the middle of 70s and met Ali,but also crossed paths with Cooney,Cobb and Holmes.

 

Seems it wasn't that long ago he was still fighting much younger men. The night he KO'ed Moorer my dad and I both jumped out of our seats, now they are both gone. How fleeting time is.

A true legend of the sport. I echo what everyone has already said, he had an incredible career and is most certainly one of the greatest Heavyweights in history.

I remember way back in '73 when Big George defeated Smokin'Joe in such an impressive way.
All the lads in my school couldn't believe it.Big George became an instant legend.
Rest in peace Big George.

 

I loved his comeback and his personality, he fitted in perfectly in the late 80 s - 90 s .
He had people wanting a fairytale story of the old champ coming back..a proper Rocky movie ending.

 

Cheers buddy. What he did to Frazier was incredible, and to back it up against Norton was, well, out of this damn world.

 

Bugner, Chuvalo, Holmes. Only ones left from the 70'.

 

Thats gutting. I loved Foreman.

Its a shock to hear it came so suddenly. He was a picture of health for soo long , mentally and physically. I recall him hitting the bag a few years ago.

Not just a great boxer , a great American. RIP

 

RIP Big George. He was certainly one of a kind. I'm ironically in Jamaica right now where George won his first world title in 73'. The gym at the resort I am at has the poster from Foreman vs Frazier in it.

 

RIP George Foreman,.

 

I cannot imagine a life more fully lived.

Shocking. It’s shocking because he’s been a fixture (particularly in our little world) for eons. He seemed like part of a landscape rather than just flesh and blood. Our mistake.

Way to work, George. You took hold of the reins and never let go.
