Warrior?? No way in Hell! he fought scared. Even Cotto's jab was hurting him. Foreman is getting way too much credit. Just read his knee excuse. he said its from an old child injury when he fell off his bicycle. Give me a break! All of a sudden a childhood injury in which he has never had a problem with before in any fight or in training shows up in the fight when he is starting to fall apart. He has never mentioned any knee injury before now he finds it a convenient excuse to get out of the fight. I think he initially just strained it and when Cotto put more pressure on him, it gave him the perfect excuse to get out of the fight w/o hurting his pride. The injury just seemed inconsistent during those last few rounds. He would be circling just fine and then once he got hit with a good punch by Cotto he would be hurt and then consciously decide to grab his knee and act like his knee was why he was hurt or why he was hit. Just go back and look at the fight. He would circle throw a few punches and only limp a little but when Cotto landed a good shot Foreman would then have a major overacted reaction then grab his knee and react as his knee was the culprit. Even when he got hit with that good body shot at the end, his initial reactions was as if the body shot hurt him (and it did) but then after a short time he acted as if the reason he went down was because his knee. Everyone is giving Foreman too much credit. When his corner threw in the towel he made no real comotion about the fight being stopped or as if he wanted to continue. He and his corner thought he was gonna get away with a dq or go to the scorecards instead of a tko or ko happening. First his corner throws in the towel and then lies about it afterwards. My opinion is what Foreman and his corner did was uneacceptable. Everyone is looking at this in favor of Foreman. They almost stole a clean clear cut victory from Cotto by that bull****! Instead of Cotto getting the ko or a tko he would of received a not so appelaing or satisfying DQ win. Then Cotto critics would still be on his back. And instead of Foreman getting a ko or tko on his record, he would of had a DQ, which he could of made excuse after excuse that he could of or would of won or wanted to continue. Plus I have never seen so much ass kissing for such a mediocre fighter. Its just like when a Great White Hope comes along, everyone jumps on the bandwagon and gives high praises just because white people now have one of their own to cheer for. Recall the ass kissing and premature ridiculous credit Joe Mesi received by HBO and the press. Remember the lovefest for Rosenblat??? He got the same attention as Foreman, but he proved to be just as mediocre. I know I will receive **** for this post but its true
I stopped reading after this paragraph. Have you even seen him box before? I don't believe you have...otherwise you would have seen his knee brace...
hey dumb ass...i know you dont read much , but the rules do not allow a towell from the corner to stop the fight....the fighter wanted to continue....its the fighters choice.....its a breath of fresh air to see a guy not punk out the first time adversity happens...give the fighters a little more credit....he had the belt, he didnt want to lose it on an injury....he dint ==dnt do a nate campbell, cintron, leija or a chavez...has nothing to do with the guy being white you racist *** :hi:
Just wait and see when the tests come back from his so called knee injury they will all show nothing serious. I will go as far a sto say nothing wrong will be found with it. Real knee injuries hurt like hell and walking with a knee injury is almost impossible, let alone run around the ring like Foreman continued to do. Faking no, there are not only the choices between two extremes; faking and terrible knee injury. he probably initially strained it a bit and his 1st fall was legit and it probably hurt a bit for a minute or so, but thats all. The 2nd time he slipped was not due to his knee. Just look back at the tape, he slipped due to water in the corner , it was not because his knee gave out. No one is looking at this in Cotto's ponit of view. That stunt with the towel throw n in almost cost Cotto a clear, cut tko or ko. Foreman and his corner's bull**** almost took that away from Cotto. He would of got a not so satisyfing DQ win and nobody would of givien Cotto credit for it. Plus Foreman would fo had all the excuses ion the world. Its just a shame that Cotto almost had this ko taken from him by the bull**** by Foreman and his team!
Why do people like yourself ask and then answer your own questions??? Yes I have seen him fight before! Plus go and look at the news conference transcript. Foreman himself states that he just wore it as a precaution not because his knee bothers him or he has had any issues with it.
Well your calling his knee injury an excuse, but you choose to ignore that he wears a knee brace as precaution for a previous knee injury showing up again...?
No **** you moron! but they tried it anyway! Did'nt they??????? The rules do not allow a towell being thrown into stop a fight, but it does not stop corners from doing it, it also allows the fighter to be DQ'd for his corner throwing a towel in or coming into the ring. Thats what refs usually do, they dq the fighter for his corner throwing in the towel. Its very rare for the ref to do what was done tonight instead of disqualifying the fighter, let the fight go on. Thats what I meant from taking it awayf from Cotto, giving him a win via dq instead of a KO, which he was working towards. Tell me which looks better to a fighter to win by ko or dq???? The answer is obvious. What do you mean he did not do a Chavez? Yeah Foreman's name dseserves to be uttered in the same sentence as Chavez ( you are a clearly a moron). Its funny you accuse me of being a racist but then use bigotry language. Why is it always moronic, high school drop outs like yourself always try to show others how smart they are by accusing others of "dont reading much". By the way the smiling face with the waving hand is so cute! What are you a 12 yr old girl.
Forman said it was an old injury as a kid when falling off his bike, sometimes in sparring it has twisted but he is able to walk it off, but he couldn't do it this time for some reason.
Besides Cintron, both Vitali and Campbell had legit reasons for quitting. While what Foreman did was VERY VERY brave and showed a lot of heart, it was also foolish, he could of ended up ending his career tonight. We don't know. He had every reason to stop and no one would of thought twice about it.
Wow i can't believe people are actually bagging on a boxer like Foreman for going on without his main weapons... It's like max put it: "Foreman without his legs is like.....Cotto without his fists!"
