Keeping tyson on the end of jab.= If bruno, pinklon thomas and truth wiliams couldnt why rahman? Maintaining focus and composure= perhaps. Recovering from a knockdown= did rahman recover from knockdowns against lewis, maskiev and tua? Physical strength = Did rahman have more strength than bruno? maybe, on a good day, rahman could have been as successful as frank Bruno was losing to Tyson. A man not getting past maskiev and tua is not beating Tokyo Tyson.
I’ve seen the tua fights years ago. hasim got caught on the ropes before the bell then got stopped the next round. Was not the best stoppage but was not fighting back. The last one was a draw but they were both out of shape. It was not a world class spectacle. hasim could outbox tua for spells but he was always vulnerable to getting clocked. against a 23 year old Tyson rahman would have gotten hurt.. rahman is not outboxing a 23 year old Tyson. All this gets away from what kind of fighter george foreman was in 1990. capable but no world beater.
I was seeing how far off track I could take you. Unfortunately you didn't bite on my round robing post about journeymen champions
:yikesPlease rewatch Foreman/Holyfield and Foreman/Morrison. I'll admit that neither of these guys punched quite like a peak Tyson but Big George took a sustained beating to the head in both encounters. I'd have to say that no HW in history could starch the older version.
I respectfully disagree. Tyson definitely could. Bowe could. Lewis could. Ruddock could. To name a few.
I'm just going by the evidence. He must have taken 30 flush left hooks from Morrison( a huge puncher) and Evander almost broke his hand on Big George's giant head.
If anyone was to slaughter Old Foreman quick and early it would have been Tyson. I see Bowe and Lewis giving George a methodical beatdown, far more damaging than what Holyfield or Moorer did.
Holyfield almost dropped Foreman with one flush right hand to the chin in the 9th round. IN the 3rd round, Holyfield stunned Foreman with a left hook and then had him reeling from his follow-up combinations. Foreman's chin was good, but it wasn't fool proof!
I actually think Morrison punched just as hard, if not harder, than a peak Tyson. He wasn't as good of an overall puncher, but punch for punch, Morrison was right there!
The Tyson of Ruddock 1 and 2 beats Foreman but the Tokyo version? I don't know. Foreman never beat anyone in his second career as good as Tyson. As for Rahman-Tyson, Tyson knocks him into the third row. Rahman didn't move well enough.
George Foreman in his comeback was very good in my opinion. He beat Cooney,Cooper,Adilson Rodriguez,Alex Stewart, had piece of **** Tommy Morrison on the run and was beating Briggs. Lets not forget that everyone Foreman faced was 20 years younger than him. Foreman did better against prime Holyfield than Tyson did against older Holyfield. Tyson was scared of Foreman anyway. Tyson had an average chin at best and didnt have a KO passed round 7 ever. Old George survives the early Tyson onslaught and pushes him around, hits him with uppercuts and power jabs and finally puts him to sleep in round 7 or 8. Foreman wouldnt be scared of Tyson and when people weren't scared, they beat Tyson.
