As I say, sometimes it doesn't hurt, but sometimes you don't even notice.

That is why the athlete can perform.

Yep, depends on the amount of lateral movement needed for the sport.

Torn meniscus? Sorry, not that bad of an injury. Guarantee when they go in their to fix it they see he has a torn ACL. Your knee doesn't give out on you when you have a torn meniscus, it's just cartilage to keep the knee and joint from rubbing together.

He probably didn't stretch before the fight, which makes tearing an ACL not too difficult a task. No way that was only a meniscus and if it was, he was a flop.

This is the truth of it. A torn meniscus can be painful and cause inflamation, but in order for his leg to buckle like it did he had to have had some kind of ACL injury.

    Same thought I have.

A torn meniscus isn't an emergency. If ever, it takes time for the fluid to build up to cause painful mobility. It can also be replaced.

Wonder why you say a torn meniscus isn't such a bad injury, p. The best doctors can offer is to cut away the torn section of the meniscus. It doesn't re-grow, like a broken bone. The pain, ultimately, subsides but there'll always be less support. OK for daily walking, but not for an elite athlete.

During the fight and right after I was in all the hype of Mercente Jr. After stepping away and thinking about it objectively, Mercente Jr. should be banned from reffing. The kid had a serious injury and was in no way able to fight competitively. The fight should have been stopped when he slipped and came up limping and it should have been stopped when the towel was thrown in the ring and Foreman's corner came into the ring.

I've had both. Meniscus isn't bad.

On my ACL tear, I was given a wrong diagnosis and told it was a strained meniscus, and played an entire lacrosse season without it. I was basically just throwing my leg out in front while trying to run. I hadn't stretched before the game and the first two minutes of the season I tore it.

I could easily play football without the meniscus, but without the ACL I was a gimp.

If you see the way he originally falls, it looks like an ACL, and that can go unfound through an MRI. He either tore his ACL or looked for a way out the fight imo.
