Bugner who blasted out Richard Dunn and lost a split decision to Lyle v Foreman who had a run of comeback wins but was headed for the Young loss.
If George had fought Bugner around that time , how does it go ? Foreman obviously a big favourite but Bugner went the distance twice with Ali and with Frazier and Lyle. Given what Young did and Bugner has a great gas tank, how much trouble could Big Joe give Big George ?

As far as domestic levels go, Bugner was good, but did not have that magical extra potion to beat any of the top boys. He looked good and aggressive against Richard Dunn, but Dunn was never a world title threat. I think he gave a reasonable showing against Frazier and Ali, and even lasting longer than many of Ron Lyles foes. Against Foreman, I think he would have gone early like he did against Shavers, maybe lasting until the fifth or sixth.

This !.Bugner gets caught early and never really gets a grip on the fight. He manage s to survive through to about Five round, when Foreman land's a killer punch and Bugners senses go flying .

Bugner will try to peck, poke and clinch his way to a decision. Against Foreman that aint gonna work. Foreman blasts him out in 4-5 rounds.

Mid-rounds is about right. This is not peak Foreman, and Bugner can last until then.
