hang on a sec, is this fight real? foreman at any age would make kimbo his ***** in a striking exchange
At what? At boxing, Foreman would easily win, despite his advanced age. At MMA, he would lose horribly to a guy that's a bad MMA fighter. Likewise, Steve Yzerman would beat a minor league baseball player at hockey, and a minor league baseball player would whoop him at baseball.
Probably. Kimbo sucks. If I had to rate him as an MMA fighter, I'd give him a 2.5. But who cares? These hypothetical situations are pretty...well, ******ed.
Young George could train MMA for a month and stomp Kimbo. If they fought next week and old inactive George would lose much like Mercer did.
I think that's a complete myth. Just because you can punch in MMA, it doesn't make it that similar to boxing. They're completely different sports that require very different skill sets and mentalities. They're similar in the way lacrosse and hockey are similar. You try to put an object in a net and can hit people. Except in one, you add in different layers, ie skates. Normal western-style boxing doesn't work well in MMA because it can't deal with changing levels to stuff shots, can't fend off body locks, and isn't prepared to deal with kicks. In the same token, MMA striking isn't going to get a fighter through a round or two in an actual boxing match. There are some exceptions of fighters who have succeeded in both, though I use succeeded quite loosely. Most people with a boxing background also have strong wrestling backgrounds to go with it, ie Marcus Davis or Jamie Varner. And most MMA fighters who has transitioned and won a boxing match fought a huge tomato can.
In a boxing match sure, but not in an MMA fight. Everyone said the exact same thing about Mercer, and we saw what happened. Foreman simply has no ground skills or takedown defense, it'd go the exact same way as the Mercer fight.
Umm no. Not now in an MMA fight. Infact never in an MMA fight unless he learns some submission or takedown defense.
