One thing that is always misstated is that this fight was "stopped". Foreman was in fact counted out. Ive heard experts such as Sugar and others state the ref stopped the fight. In fact the announcers calling the fight mis spoke the count. They were 1 or 2 counts behind the actual count which makes it look like the ref reached 8 or 9 and waved off the bout. This I believe is the reason for the confusion. The ref reached 10 as Foreman lurched to his feet but his gloves still were touching the canvas.

Even Hagler got dropped in sparring sessions though, it doesn't really mean ****.

But Ali's first gameplan did fail, he never wanted to go on the ropes, he described foreman like a robot.

I really don't see him saying it is a brick wall.

If Shavers hadn't stopped to admire his work after landing that shot and plowed in with guns a blazin...Ali would have crumpled...that is unless ESB gives him the same Superman cape that they give Marvin hagler and his chin.

After all, Frazier sent him to the deck and Smoke couldn't faze George Foreman...it's all rather selective, this praise of Ali's chin..

Foreman was coming off an injury and was out of shape, that and the brutal heat of Africa just wore him down. Ali after the win ducked Foreman the rest of his career.

BS. Foreman of the 70's had no endurance....look at his bouts with Peralta, Ali and Young.

Ali was simply better than Foreman when they're compared to each other. Deal with it !!!!!!!

Ali v Frazier/Norton would always be nip and tuck.

Foreman v Frazier/Norton would always be a walk in the park for Foreman.

Ali-Foreman - Ali would always befuddle Foreman.

    and d ropes , and d ropes .

Those ropes that Angelo Mirena put so Ali would have been able 2 duck and stretch , absorb and/but remain upright all d time .

Do not d rules st8 anything about when only d ropes hold a fighter upright ?
