This one is pretty obvious. Lennox Lewis was a fine champion, a credit to European boxing and a really great guy. I have met Lennox a few times and actually like him as a person. I also have met Big George many times, and believe me, Lennox's chin would have as much chance of getting him past George as an uncooked egg would have clearing the left field fence after Ken Griffey Jr.'s bat connected with it. This fight would make Ray Mercer's KO of Tommy Morrison look merciful. I like Lennox, he was a class act, but no match for Foreman.

George by KO early and violently.

Good point. Lennox was a more complete fighter but you can't help feeling that George's power shots would seize the day for him in this one.

Lennox. I think he had a fine, underrated chin. Foreman could take him out of his element with his great, ramrod jab and probably get him into trouble early. Maybe even a knockdown. But I think Lewis could hold and survive until George inevitably gasses like he always did back then. He didn't really pace himself at all and an intelligent fighter like Lewis could take advantage of that.

    Lewis late KO.

Yes I agree completely. Foreman and Liston are two men, Lewis has no business being in the ring with.

I don't think Lewis is lasting long enough for stamina to be a factor. And Foreman still hit pretty hard even in the later rounds. Young was definitely out on his feet.

This is a hard fight to call. I'd probably pick Lewis to avoid getting hit with anything that stops him and getting to Foreman late in the fight. Lewis would probably keep him on the end of his jab and land the occasional overhand rights, frustrating Foreman. That's one scenario, another is that Foreman catches him clean and it's lights out. The most plausible in my mind is the first one.

I'd pick Foreman and Liston to win everytime because of one thing: the jab. The myth that Foreman "learned the jab" in his comeback incarnation is a pure myth repeated by HBO over and over again. Watch his jab vs Chuvalo, Norton, Peralta. The hardest jab (with the exception of Liston's) in HW history, and pretty quick and snappy to. Lewis had a good jab but was outjabbed by Mercer, Bruno, and even in spots by Holyfield (although Evander by that stage never consistently threw any punch). Even a completely shot Tyson, who had no business being in the ring was able to outjab Lewis.

Foreman will outjab him, and thus take away Lewis's best weapon. When Lewis is forced to trade, he's getting knocked out (Foreman's body work is also going to be a major factor)

Maybe you should watch the Vitali fight or the second Rahman fight and see if Lewis has a jab or not. Against Vitali he was stopping a 250lb fighter in is tracks.

And if you honestly think Tyson out jabbed Lewis in their fight you're even more delusional than even I imagined. And against Foreman, don't rule out Lewis landing a couple of overhand rights that keep George from being all that interested in trying to trade with Lewis. The power difference between the two isn't all that different, although I will give the edge to George, but Lewis is just a way better boxer and is much faster.

Just to show everyone how truly full of **** you are, here are the compubox stats for the Lewis/Tyson fight.

Tell me, are you dyslexic? Did you not just see what I wrote about Lewis having a good jab?

I'm referring to the first round not throughout the entire fight.

Foreman NEVER backed out of trading with a fighter. Especially one with a glass chin.:lol:

    Please stop! It's excruciating. :lol::lol::rofl

Trading with Foreman, who has a devastating right hand and ample grainy footage from the past to validate his old-time toughness, is a terrible move for Lennox, but a temptation he couldn't resist, like a dog who plays fetch with a hand grenade.

Talk to me when Lennox's film takes on a more appealing shade of sepia.

    Foreman KO 5.

You're the one who doesn't know what you're talking about, you said you'd pick both Foreman and Liston over Lewis because of their jabs, and I'm showing you specifically why you might be wrong once again.

No you didn't. You never mentioned your comment referring to one round at all. You flat out said, that Tyson out jabbed Lewis in their fight. It's available for all to see.

Well he barely made it out of the Lyle fight, and Lewis is a far better fighter than Lyle ever dreamed of being. Like I said, I can respect both boxers enough to say this fight could go either way. Certainly Lewis could outbox Foreman.

Here's the quote you are now trying to run away from. It's pretty damn clear what it says, and it's equally clear that YOU are WRONG.

Despite Lewis having many more advantages over Foreman, I feel George's relentless pressure, brute strength and raw punching power spells a lot of danger.

I think this a very unpredictable fight purely due to the fact that I can list more reasons why Lewis should win, but always favoured Foreman ever so slightly.

Foreman wins, not a good style matchup for Lewis

Where did I say he put jabbed him throughout the whole fight?
