Foreman vs. Lyle" Fight of the Year AND a Skilled Affair.

It wasn’t devoid of skill but I wouldn’t call it a skilled affair in a true, proactive sense.

Nicely edited piece, the vision generally in sync with the analytical address.

However, at one point the narrator notes an exchange but states there was nothing of significance landed - exactly when the vision shows Lyle crashing a right hand into Foreman’s head.

Of the two, Lyle might look more technically sound at best. Foreman’s power is unreal, even shots that appeared lazy in execution carried top notch power and body shifting force but this fight also upheld the inner beast in Lyle also, Ronnie punching extremely hard in this one.

Though perhaps not necessarily categorised as skill - but the punches in Foreman vs Lyle for the most part appear quite slow - and if you view the speed exhibited in say Liston vs Williams or Lyle vs Shavers in order to compare, the difference is marked imo. Skilful executions delivered at speed inherently become that much more skilful.

An aged Liston wasn’t too fast himself by the time he fought Henry Clark but while still punching hard, the skill he displayed was notably well above that which Foreman and Lyle put on display.

The last KD of Foreman, when Foreman lifts his head off the canvas, note the pool of blood where his head had rested - even Foreman appears to look at it momentarily -

Was it a mouth cut? - I’m not sure - but perhaps the sight of that also spurred Foreman to arise and put at an end to the punch up.

 

I'm not sure where the blood came from either, but that can be a hell of a motivator. This wasn't just a boxing match, it could have been life or death. Two big silverbacks stuck in a cage together and no one could leave until there was a winner. No doubt he had flashbacks to Zaire and didn't want to be humiliated again. Foreman said so in interviews. He also mentioned years later that he learned not to mess around with punchers and to try to take them out as soon as possible.

 

If you're talking about Kamikaze, or whatever rendition he is this time. Just put him on ignore. I took JT's advice a while back, and did the same. He's a troll by his own admission, and thrives off antagonizing posters with his juvenile comments.

 

Yeah I tried to give him another chance but he inevitably slipped back into his old cringe self. Now apparently Rocky Marciano was more skilled than any of the 70's boxers, I thought that was definitely worth the read and hilarious. He seriously needs therapy for his little man syndrome and desperate need for attention.

 

I almost want to take him off ignore and see this gem.

Yeah all jokes aside, I would feel bad for the guy if he wasn't such a POS. It's obvious he has issues.
