Twenty Years ago, on this day--November 5, 1994--"BIG" George Foreman shocked the world with a 10th Round KO over "DOUBLE M" Michael Moorer. The official time was 2:03. FIGHT: [yt]di7PRwl11b0[/yt] HBO Legendary Nights: [yt]MbfjlJoqZv8[/yt]
It was Nov 5th he got it right, I remember watching it when I was 14, amazed at an "old man" winning, now I'm starting to realize he wasn't that old.
Great accomplishment. Only it was in the time a LHW could still bulk up and become the lineal HW champ. Then it's pretty hard to stand up to that kinda power. Old Foreman is one of my favorite boxers of all time.
Moorer is so bitter in that HBO special 'Legendary Nights.' He keeps reiterating how Foreman got lucky and is full of it for calling it a gameplan against him.
While many saw that right hand coming. He was fighting a dumb fight getting tagged by George's right a couple of times. Of course the gameplan was to keep getting in his face and land the money punch, George wasn't going to try to jab and move to outbox Moorer But like you said, just Mike being bitter.
