I have often dismissed this fight thinking of it as another comebacking Foreman's circus acts but felt interested to watch it the other day and really enjoyed it ..

Kwai was not yet shot. His best days and weight were behind him but he was coming off the Holyfield fights and was still a talented, respectable fighter .. Foreman was actually in the best physical shape of his comeback, weighing in at 235, a weight he'd never see again ..

Qwai started out looking to end it early .. he was swinging for the fences and many times managed to land flush on Foreman who took it well but knew he was in a fight .. you could see the rust start to pour off Foreman as the rounds progressed, his jab was sharper, his punches smoother ... finally his overall strength and power was too much and Qwai packed it in .. it was a pretty good fight .. worth watching again ..

It was a decent match up.
Qawi was overweight and undertrained, fighting on relatively short notice.
Foreman was only a year into his comeback (after 10 years off) and probably a bit too light.

Qawi landed any punch he wanted. He was just in no shape.

I love when Foreman nailed Dwight with a right uppercut, and Dwight froze as if he was going down. George turns his back on Dwight, and Qawi goes back on the attack throwing a combination at Foreman. It's amazing how a blubbery Qawi was able to do a lot better than Joe Frazier did both times against Foreman.

It was definitive proof for anybody who may not have known it before that Qawi was a block of granite, not a human being.

Shows how destructve at cruiserweight Holyfield was the night he stopped Qawi in 4 rounds.

It seemed a predictable and methodical beatdown of a small man by an unworried big man. I really found nothing special in it.

You could draw parallels from this fight to Wlads fight against Jennings. Qwai was better in my book. Foreman battered his man. You didn't see him retreat and hold on for his life so badly it cost him a point deduction.
I think there's something to be said about that.

You could if you overreacted on every topic to make it somehow relevant to your own personal vendetta against Wlad.

If you were so inclined .

The only problem with GoldenHulk's comment is that he "forgot" to mention that Joe Frazier faced a 24/27 years old Foreman while a blubbery Qawi faced a 39 years old version of the same fighter. He also "forgot" to mention that Foreman had a 10 years lay off between 1977 - 1987.
Two insignificant details, of course .....

I love how this guy calls me stupid! Qawi was 35, 50lbs over his prime fighting weight, was not undefeated like Joe Frazier was, was not a 3-1 favorite like Joe Frazier, was not 29 like Frazier going into his fight with Foreman in 1973.
Foreman was older but being the next hardest puncher after Earnie Shavers, the long layoff didnt hurt him as much because he wasnt a fancy boxer. Foreman never had blazing hand or foot speed. Power and durability was Foreman's game. In fact in the second part of his career George was never knocked down or stopped unlike when he was younger. The older, bigger version was more durable, but a bit slower.
