We're talking big picure here. Foreman was trying to beat a guy with a rating so that he could get himself in line for a title shot. He hadn't beaten anyone with a rating up to that point. Tyson was coming off a bad loss in losing his titles and was fighting to start a comeback. Guys take easy marks for these types of fights all t he time. It's regrouping and starting again. He then earned a shot at Holyfield, which we know never came off, by twice beating Razor Ruddock. This thread wasn't even meant to be about Tyson. It is about Foreman. Your obsession with Tyson is disconcerting. I could care less if you owned me in that other thread. The Tyson/Holyfield fight never happened in Nov. 1991 so nobody knows what would have happened. Anyone can say anyting about what would have happened and nobody would be wrong - because it never happened.
Yes and what did Foreman do? Beat a man with a rating... Would you say Foreman deserved a shot after his bout with Holyfield?
The opponent made sense at the time; even though most of the fancy would have picked the result pre fight. I thought it was going to be interesting.
