I agree that it was disgraceful of Ali to duck George for many years after their fight.

 

The 70s had these gimmicks.
Ali with Inoki and all that crap.
Some of Ali's defenses were almost as bad.
Ali versus a 19-year old Dokes exhibition is embarrassing.

Foreman's problem is he tried imitating Ali, and went in for these gimmicks.

 

i was not born at this time but would love to see the footage to judge it for myself, is there any way to view it?

I find it funny that Cosell says "little Terry Daniels is no match for Foreman",who was 12 lbs above his best weight,yet 3 years earlier Daniels fought Frazier for the title.NOW THAT WAS A DISGRACEFUL EPISODE IN BOXING HISTORY!That and defending against Ron Stander whose own Wife said it was "like entering a VW in the Indiannapolis 500"

And dont say Frazier was entitled to an easy one or two,four moths after the FOTC Ali took on Jimmy Ellis the number three contender,spot the difference?

Ali completed screwed up young Foreman's head in Zaire which had as much to do with his defeat in Zaire as the two's boxing skills. The brain-fried Foreman began what was, in effect, his second career with the Toronto side-show (a joke to begin with but what was Ali even doing there disrupting everything?) It continued with a less than stellar effort against Lyle (a pre-Ali George would have put Ron to sleep inside of two IMO) and against Young (again the new, fried, lethargic George was on display).

Also in my opinion, Ali basically ended Frazier's career in TFOTC.

Was Jerry Quarry really "shot" in 1974 when he fought Frazier ?

In 1973 Quarry had registered wins over Lyle and Shavers. What happened to make him "shot" when he faced Frazier ?

Fitz did it Dempsey did it ,plus he kod a wrestler,Galento wrestled an Octopus,Chuvalo took on a series of stiffs one night ,Lamar Clark kod 5 nobodies out in the sticks Ali engaged in that debacle with Inoki ,Wepner with Andre the Giant ,yet when Foreman takes on 5 men its a disgraceful exhibition.Bull ****.Some one has a rather obvious agenda here.
