Foreman's punches on Ali

    Great post.

    The rope-a-dope only worked because Foreman fought like a dope. As much as people in this forum clown Wilder, he fights with more ring IQ than Foreman did as a young man, and has the length and power to obliterate any passive stationary target.

    Exactly. Even short armed frazier showed the holes in the rope a dope when ali tried it on him.

    Great post! As much as I hate to admit I'm glad someone agrees with me here that Wilder's power is almost unstoppable. Of course he doesn't beat Ali but you played along to my scenario and that is where he would almost certainly beat him.

    Ali some how timed things perfectly with young Foreman:

    Foreman being overly confident
    The excessive heat in Zaire
    It had been some years since Foreman went past 4 rounds in a fight
    Ali did something NOBODY would ever try on Foreman.
    Ali had all the locals against Foreman

    Yup Foreman snuck one in for sure. The Ali that beat Williams may have done more damage on Foreman but over 12-15 rounds. I'm not sure if he would knock him out though.
