    Hahaha, seriously.

I'd say 50% of all boxing sites are sponsored by Top Rank, and do little more than flood the web with Public Relations

Fight Hype is way more legit, than say Examiner.com!

MANILA—Floyd Mayweather Jr. has turned down a $65 million offer to fight pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told the Inquirer over the phone yesterday that the unprecedented offer was made by a Singapore group that handles special events and other projects for big casino complexes and other entities in the island state.

Arum said that Mayweather demanded $10 million even before he and the Singaporeans could discuss a possible Pacquiao fight.

“This guy (Mayweather Jr.) is totally out of his mind,” Arum said.
Arum said that the Singapore group flew to Los Angeles to negotiate. The Top Rank promoter added the group told him “they never experienced such craziness in their lives.”

Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz confirmed the meeting, saying: “Mayweather wanted the $10 million up front before he would event talk to them.”

“There are no excuses this time, nobody to blame,” said Koncz. “He just doesn’t want to fight Manny.

Where are you going to get $65 million? Even after tax and everything it would come down to $30 or 40 million and that’s a lot of money.”

    That's what I say

Filipinos believe anything those amateurs on Examiner.com say.

They just don't like it when the tables are turned

    Seriously.

All this guy is doing is acting like a Pacquiao fan. Posting a negative, speculative article about a fighter he dislikes, on a site, to annoy people.

You'd be giving him high fives if Mayweather was the subject

How many people on the net are doing this for Manny?

    All of examiner.com

    All of boxing insider

    Michael Marley

    All of Bleacher report.

That's why there's so much crap online. Arum's paying half the internet to write bull****

You see, I can read that, and after 10 seconds, work out it's complete bull ****.

I've decided that to be a Pacquiao fan, you have to be beyond gullible and believe almost everything you're told, without question.

    Let me get this straight.

You've got one article, from Asia, that was actually from when Pacquiao visited Singapore on a media trip, and said something like "I'd like to fight in Singapore"

And another with Bob Arum talking crap about some mystery Singaporean who offered $65 million for the fight, and you're convinced............

Seriously. The Fight Hype story is more credible. And that's not that credible

All Bob Arum does, is take stuff that happened 12 months ago, and never went anywhere, and make it public when it suits him.

I don't doubt a Singaporean has once called Arum and enquired about Manny fighting in the country.

but it probably ended, when it turned out the Singaporean couldn't get any money to make it happen

There are names/groups provided from Singapore. Are there names/groups provided in the latest offer for $75 million?

    :hi:

Read the whole article. It was Singapore that brought Pac in after 2 failed attempts. They want the fight in Singapore to promote tourism there, much like the Dubai offer.

You know, I've actually lived in Singapore.

I can tell you a few things.

1: The marina bay venue they discuss is actually freaking outdoors!?

2: Outdoors in Singapore is about 90% humidity

3: They're also 10 hours ahead of the US eastern time zone

4: Nobody in Singapore could give a damn about Pacquiao or mayweather

All this article states is that Manny visited Singapore, said he wants to box there, and someone from the Singaporean tourist board saying "we want him to fight here"

If you want an example of how dumb these things are. Do you remember that Arum "Mayweather turned down 100 million for South Africa"

Do you want to know what happened.

In June 2010, around the time of the 2nd negotiation, Nelson Mandelas daughter approached Don King and Arum about a fight there, for her dads birthday

    All parties were interested.

However, the Mandelas pulled out, when it turned out they didn't have the financial backing.

    End of.

    That's the story

Just fantasy crap, that never had a chance of happening

Wow! FH.com can confirm that a tender was submitted to Top Rank for $75M and that they were willing to pay $25M upfront to each fighter simply to sign?

This story is different from the $100M story, which was actually first announced and updated by no other than Jeff Mayweather, corroborated by Arum and Koncz, and borne out by the resulting litigation between Mandela's daughter and the financiers.

The Singapore story also had some provenance behind it, but in the absence of harder facts should be ignored. But this story simply came out of the blue and comes from the same site that has been on a PR drive to resuscitate Floyd's image in the past weeks. And no one else has seen this mysterious tender nor named these moneyed individuals who made the offer.

The most likely thing is that it is a tit-for-tat for Arum's Singapore story. "See, I can also make up a bogus offer and publicize it."
