If you missed this (and it's hard to blame you, as it was an unheralded domestic battle for some UK and Euro lightweight titles), you missed one of the best fights of the year so far. I promise you.

Find a way to see it if you can.

Don't be fooled by the official result (John Murray TKO11 Gary Buckland). Buckland has perhaps an even better chin than Rodrigo Guerrero, and the same depth of heart and determination. This is one of those epic struggles where the result and the scoring on the ten-point-must system don't do the tale any justice at all.

Buckland pushed Murray to the limit and took some astounding punishment, and never quit. The "TKO" came at a point when he was still blocking punches and pressing forward, he had just been getting hit cleanly too many times for too many rounds in the referee's estimation (and he was right).

It was some of the most exciting two-way action seen in the ring all year...better than Kessler-Froch IMO. A lot of sharp and brutal body-punching.

    Check it out.

Thansk for the heads up. I am a huge Murray fan. Will look forward to it.
