We all know Larry Merchant is an biased idiot. However, I've grown weary of Lampley's "elitism". He talks down to his audience. We know he's educated but he's gone overboard to belabor that point throughout his career on HBO. He's very biased toward the "house" fighter, yet he can't stand Mayweather (who has helped make him rich). Lampley always came off as the village idiot. I miss the days where George Foreman would openly put lampley's fanboy AZZ on blast by correct his boxing knowledge.
Why? It is always a new commentator you guys pick on, Atlas, Merchant now lampley? Merchant I understand but why Lampley?
Floyd said he would go there with class, and leave there with class; he then proceeded to take advantage of Ortiz in a moment of confusion, and tell Larry Merchant he should be fired and that "he ain't ****." I'm not saying that Lampley is right to ignore Ortiz's obvious foul or that what Floyd did was entirely wrong, but this is the same guy who calls himself better than Ali and Robinson, and then acts soo offended if you have an inch of criticism for him.
People who have major problems with commentators? Jesus Christ, it doesn't get much lamer than that...:-(
