Great fighter, who had he lived the life properly would have gone on to better things... I was speaking to Gomez Jnr recently, i really hope things open up for him soon, such a great kid.
I was there last year when he took that loss (jnr) in Sheffield. Then I saw him again the week before the restrictions started, over in colne. He looked good tbf. He could do well as he's tall with long arms for his weight class. He's a decent fightwr, not sure he lives the life tho, think he's a bit of a lad. Nice kid tho, you're right!
I'm doing a top 100 fights. I'd wager good money that ends up on it. That and probably 30 fights around that weight, they're just so fast paced!
Hardly all forgotten, and some already mentioned but the list of fights I'm trialing for now may be of interest for some in this thread. Sibson was one handed that night and used his experience to kid Kaylor out of it. Yeah, the crowd were at it. I heard it was Leicester Baby Squad v ICF.
In terms of British forgotten classics, then I'd always recommend Spencer Fearon against David Walker in 2003. Absolute carnage while it lasted and so many momentum swings in such a short space of time. Never seems to get talked about but it's on YouTube and well worth a watch.
Another Michael Ayers fight that hasn't been mentioned is his one with Colin Dunne back in 1996. I haven't seen it since then and I can't find it online but if anyone can locate it, that would be great.
Skirmishes were on the go constantly, an older fella near me was being smashed with a chair ! Kaylor always wore Hammers colours and had predominately, a football following, Sibbo didn’t wear colours but had a huge following wherever he went, many football fans. It was pretty scary that night. I was at The Copper Box in 2017 when it all kicked off after Sam McNess lost. He wore colours and had a large Hammers following that night too !
The Gomez fight I enjoyed most was one I attended at the Dome. He lost to one of my favorite British domestic guys, Ingemar. Their donnybrook makes a solid nomination in this thread, for my money. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected "Mickey Vann's a bent *******!", in response to a reasonable enough stoppage. I know Gomez was tough, but it was some beating they were wanting their guy to take. You're an Aussie, right? Consider this little ripper; This content is protected Might well be others I can nominate. Will have to check your list thoroughly at some point and go through my archives.
I can't really remember what gave me the impression – but that's funny, man. I gave you my best Aussie slang, too.
