It seems like the decision in Holyfield-Bowe 2 is rarely brought up. Fanman naturally overshadowed other aspects of the fight. Maybe it's because Holyfield is more liked than Bowe, or because Bowe was so gracious in defeat, but rarely do people question the decision, when the fight was extremely close. IIRC, the "unofficial judges" for HBO (Lederman) and TVKO (Clancy) had it even.

I'm not big on Compubox, AT ALL, but for what it's worth, it had Bowe a very clear winner on landed punches.

For the record, I had Holyfield up 115-114.

reggie was a tough dude...he gave alot of top fighters in the middle and light heavy division problems in the 90s..all his losses on the cards were close....except his fight with roy jones where the judges didnt even give him a round

Its because it wasn't all that controversial. It was close, definitely, but most who would argue it would argue a draw, not a Bowe win.

There seems to be a pretty decent consensus among large parts of the boxing community that the fight was pretty dead even, but if anybody did win it, it was Holyfield by a point or two, and thus, the fight was not a robbery.

I have the same score as you for it.

Heard that Robles was a good, mobile boxer and gave Valdez big problems.

Have you seen the fight, Lora?

I'm guessing you mean pre-Corrales? He had a very exciting combination of power and speed, although not the best defence. Almost an orthodox Pacquaio. I think Corrales would have probably always got the better of their exchanges though

Didn't know much about his out of the ring persona. In England Hamed talked about himself as being better than past greats, some of us liked him others despised him, I was a fan.

The second fight in the Alan Minter-Kevin Finnegan trilogy was very.......very close. Finnegan always thought he won it. All three fights were close ones.

    Good call.

Finnegan's win over Bunny Sterling was very close as well.

Rodrigo Valdez-Bennie Briscoe I - a mag at the time had Briscoe winning. I think it was BI

Dwight Qawi-Ossie Ocasio - I gave all 10 rounds to Qawi

Curtis Parker-Mustafa Hamsho I - scored it 7-3 Parker like one of the judges

Vicente Saldivar-Ismael Laguna - read a report on this that it was pure robbery. A writer stated he was trying to count the left hooks Laguna was landing and finally had to give up the count since it was so many and so fast.
