Mark Prince v Michael Gale - gore, drama, massive switches in momentum, during the last couple of rounds. An insane light heavyweight fight. Wayne McCullough v Jose Luis Bueno - loads of punches, McCullough picking his shots far better than the late career McCullough, Bueno always returning fire with short, sharp, savage counters. Huge workrate, rapid fire stuff all the way. Michael Ayers v Wayne Rigby 1 & 2; Colin Dunne v Michael Ayers & Billy Schwer; Shea Neary v Any Holligan & Mickey Ward -- proof that you can have great fights for fringe titles, allowing the fighters to make a bit extra money. Carl Thompson v Akim Tafer - European cruiserweight title, in France, Thompson has the living **** beaten out of him - perhaps more than any of us have ever seen - as Tafer unloads heavy, correct, damaging shots on an outclassed Thompson. Thompson weathers it, rallies, Tafer starts going down, Thompson wins a great war.
yeah what pissed me off was everyone saying how guzman v barrios was going to be fight of the night. guzman edges barrios, looks great in spurts...vazquez wins a war, and everyone goes on about that running slapper from the dominican republic vazquez v larios 2 is an excellent fight as well; one that doesn't end so well for "Magnifico" Vazquez!
Great Fight. Both those guys would put manners on most of the light welter/welterwieght fighting today....
Darius Michalczewski v Leeonzer Barber - D-Man lands ramrod double jabs, Barber - the big, muscular Kronk fighter - counters over with right crosses and under with right uppercuts, D-Man the more active, pressing the action, Barber sharp shooting, lands KO-quality bombs that D-Man shakes off, quality punch picking, skillful offensive boxing from both sides all night, excellent overall bout for WBO light heavyweight title. Dariusz Michalczewski v Roberto Dominguez-Perez - wild 2-round shootout. D-M hurt early, rallies to knock his man out cold in 2nd. Dariusz Michalczewski v Graciano Rocchigiani rematch - bruising encounter, Rocchi with fast hands, D-M breaking him down with those heavy jabs and body shots that can break a fighter in half. Hozumi Hasegawa v Veeraphol Sahaprom 1 - very, very tough fight fought at high level of skill and intensity. Unfortunately ignored fight, forgotten around the time of Corrales-Castillo 1 and Sithchatchawal-Monshipour, etc. Thomas Ulrich v Rachid Kanfouah - excellent European light heavy title fight Zsolt Erdei v Mehdi Sahnoune - unexpected slugfest involving an injured, knackered but very brave and determined Erdei
