Devon is making a comeback after a long break. After his loss to porter it seemed he was all but washed up or shot... in the 140 division he had solid power but moving up to 147 it didn't seem to carry.. decent boxing skills and ring iq...but his heart has been questioned in the past.. his chances for a title in today's 147 division is very very slim ...crawford...spence.. thurman... all stops him at this point...porter already beat him...garcia is jus shark bait at this point a win over mattyse .. Garcia or broner may rejuvenate some shine in his career tho...

    What's your thoughts

I'm more interested to see how far his big brother Vaughn Alexander will go

He just KO'ed Elvin Ayala who has a W over Ronald Gavril

    Is Cunningham still training him?
He's not gonna have enough for the top guys at 147 and will
get pummeled at 154. He's a decent name for a top 10 guy and
can still be a gatekeeper for up and comers.

i believe devon wen he says he was battling prescriptions drugs. so is alot of other ppl. if he can cut that out n treat his body good then i think he can get back to form. devon is quick good enough pop. fast 1 2 and good trainer who dont take no crap . if devon is off the pain killers i think he can regain his form . i think its a good opponent for him and if he wins i would to see him gradually step up.

He wasnt that poor bruh. You being a lil too harsh on the man.. He nullified marcos madiana for 12 rounds in his first fight @ 147! the same man that gave floyd hell in 2 back to back fights.

Sure he basically quit in what could have been his comming out fight against bradley in there unification bout but hey hindsight is 20\20

Other than that hes always have a decent account of himself in the ring... If victor "tree" ortiz ...brandon rios..and mattyse can make a comeback he sure can

Alexander needs to eat marijuana like we were intended to do. Big pharma is killing us and they're killing holistic doctors at alarming rates. Mad world we live in

They'll have it so everyone's got cancer in a generations time, and only the rich will be able to live with it, perfect population control. Organic really cuts the chances of needing Big Pharma

Honestly think Alexander has a fair chance of dropping a fight like this.

Guy's so far past his expiration date it isn't even funny.

I liked Devon Alexander quite a bit back in his day. A good boxer. If he is truly past his prescription problems, then he is a fine addition to the mix.

Some of this has to do with how bad those problems were, though.

Keep in mind that opioids have been killing (lots of) people in the last few years. if he was a heavy over-user he could have organ damage that makes him generally weaker. If he is generally weaker at current, then he may not succeed despite his best efforts.

I hope he is well and continues to be.

if devon gets back into tip top shape hes better then broner. athleticism alone and speed he can move around the ring and out box him and win a decision. i think he can beat broner.

One of those guys that accomplished a lot really young and seemed to have peaked early with a rapid decline shortly after.

His resume is still underrated to this day. Finer than many who receive loads more credit and hype. This forum always hated on Devon, didn't understand why. He seems like a super laid back guy and maybe that plus the noise he makes when he throws, and being a successful American, is enough to turn people off. I always appreciated him. Boy, was his decline quick. I'd be stunned if he works back into contention and actually beats multiple fellow contenders.
