Over at the scene. Another fighter who understands that boxing is a business first and foremost, and sometimes the best business/financial move isn't exactly what the fans want.

“I think Golovkin is the best middleweight, and has been for a few years and will continue to be for a few more years,” said Martinez to Fighthub. “He will be the best middleweight while he stays at 160. I don’t think they [Golovkin and Canelo] are going to fight. I don’t think they will ever fight, because promoters make smart moves and they have to protect their boxers and Golovkin is still too dangerous for Canelo. Right now, he’s still too dangerous. It’s only the promoters and managers that can push fighters. It’s very difficult for a fighter to have a big voice like I did to ask for things, and not everyone is alike and you have to respect that,” said Martinez

I wish fans would boycott these fighters when they start acting like divas.

Martinez' cash out against Cotto led to this ridiculous situation in the first place.

Mayweather won titles in 5 weight classes. Canelo need to move up a few more to match Mayweather's greatness.

Business before sports...no surprise that's how you see boxing. You kids these days have no idea what you missed out on before business took over. :patsch

Well that is true I was referring to the aspect of avoiding an opponent you know will defeat you until it becomes evident that fighter has diminished more than yourself and then taking the fight.

All fighters make business decisions fans just pick and choose which one to agree with.

GGG is also making smart business moves fighting one hopeless tomato can after another knowing that his mentally incapable fan base will tun in regardless.

Yeah it's a business move, boxing is a buisiness. Canelo doesn't need GGG but GGG needs Canelo. I think Canelo will fight GGG but it will be on his time table not GGG's.

He wasn't advocating Canelo avoiding Golovkin, he was just stating the fact that he did so to continue making basically as much money fighting easier opponents.
