How do you think former Russian amateur stars Roman Romanchuk, Islam Timurziev, Alexey Tischenko and any others you liked would have done in the pro ranks if they had actually gone pro. The three I mentioned were definitely very exciting prospects.

I particularly liked Romanchuk, one of my favorite amateurs of all time. 6'4 with very long limbs. Southpaw. Very fast hands and feet and reflexes, excellent mobility, very skilled and at times very responsible defensively with very good reflexes. His problems were with fight IQ, ring generalship, consistency, and had a penchant for being drawn into wars with shorter, stalkier opponents that he easily could have outboxed. He had all the natural tools, ability, and skills to have been an elite HW or CW imo had he gone pro and was always an exciting fighter to watch. Very inconsistent, but when he could string it all together he was a joy to watch.

    Thoughts?

There's a long list of guys like Oleg Saitov, Boris Lagutin, Aleksei Tishchenko, etc that would have been all time greats.
History would have looked very different indeed and all time great lists would have been full of former Soviet Union fighters had they have been able to turn pro

Romanchuk is perhaps my favourite amatuer boxer never to go pro in the modern era. him and Timurziev would have been supurb additions to the pro ranks had they turned pro circa 2007 which means they would have gotten to world level around 2010/2011 and had their prime from about 2010-2015. Romanchuk had the height, stance, power, hand speed, and counter punching skills on par with Sanders but with way better mobility i wouldn't have written off his ability to upset a slightly slower version of an aging Klitschko. Same goes for Cammarelle.

This was the top 10 in 2012

FYI Timurziev is the only guy to ever drop Cammarelle as far as i know and Cammarelle's resume is stacked with punchers to say the least. (Romanchuk rocked him)

Pavel Nikitaev is very good, very strong.
