    Excuses, excuses. :yep

I don't remember any mention of age, weight or anything like that after Mercer lost in MMA. Nah, the MMA fanboys used it as proof that MMA was superior.. :yep

Yes, and those MMA fanboys who use the Mercer fight as some sort of proof that MMA is superior to boxing are just as stupid as boxing fanboys who point to something like the Ricco fight as proof that boxing is superior to MMA.

Unfortunately there's idiot fans in both sports who know very little about the other sport.

ricco would never be good at boxing he hasn't been good at mma for the last 6 years, he couldn't take a good punch in mma so why the hell would that change. Bas rutten koed him years ago when they used to train together becuase ricco was tossing about. He is most likely the worst ever ufc fighter to put in a boxing ring to use as an example.

ARE YOU GUYS ******ed? SO WHAT?!

Ricco is a washed up and fat ex champion, who was never that good of a striker when in the UFC. Of course boxers are better strikers (at least with their hands) than UFC fighters - duh.

How about former WBO heavyweight champion Ray Mercer, a man many felt beat Lennox Lewis, losing to backyard fighter Kimbo Slice by quick submission? Does that say MMA rules over boxing?

The problem with many of the hardcore boxing fans who hate on UFC is you just don´t understand MMA or real fighting for that matter. You like boxing, feel threatened by the possibility of MMA becoming more popular and the concept of MMA fighters being better fighters in a real fight. You don´t really want to understand MMA, just cling onto the belief that boxing is all it takes and your boxing heroes are unbeatable.

    GET OVER IT

have you you ever boxed, im betting no cause you sound like a dumbass. See it takes years to perfect this sport of boxing, then in mma you could be the fry cook at Fat Burger and next day be the greatest fighter of all time. The only real one with some talent in that sport is Anderson Silva and look at him hes handing everone there asses. He only knows a little bit of boxing and hes whooping ass

So one guy losing a SD erases all the MMA guys like Vitor Belfort,Jeff Monson,Chris Lytle,Jens Pulver,Nick Diaz having pro boxing bouts and winning ? Or what about when Mercer got tapped out or Bothat got tapped by a guy he had 40 pounds on or Nishijima whos like 25-5 in boxing and 0-5 in MMA :huh

Ok so your telling me Anderson Silva won his Brazilian Muay Thai Championships and BJJ blackbelt in 1 day ? Silva barley even uses his boxing to win his fights he uses something called MUAY THAI which is a more superior fighting style then boxing and thats been proved in MMA. Look at Rampage vs Forrest all Rampage did was use his hands and he got beat by Forrest who used leg kicks and a Thai Clinch when could.

Anderson silva sets his awsome knees with his boxing, knowing both muy thia and boxing is deadly. Rampage is an alright boxer, he doesnt move enough and through jabs to set up the big stuff, he just tries to counter and throw knockout punches. Anderson moved up in weight to beat his ass but it looks like now he has to settle for forrest

Not surprising since a lot of UFC fights end up and finish on the ground. You'd have to give even a shitty boxer the edge most of the time in a boxing contest.

    This debate is dumb.

But regardless of how out of shape he was, Ricco should have beat an absolute scrub of a boxer.
