Former Unknown Sparring Partners Becoming Stars on Their Own

    I'm talking about guys who were PROSPECTS who became stars AFTER their apprenticeship under established fighters.

    The earliest example I can come up off the top of my head is a young Larry Holmes being Ali's sparring partner before the Rumble in the Jungle.

    Jose Luis Castillo was Julio Cesar Chavez's sparring partner.

    Manny Pacquiao has had quite a few current prospects share the ring with him that went on to do big things. Freddie has found some good ones over the years:

    1. Israel Vazquez
    2. Robert Guerrero

    TOP PROSPECTS
    1. Victor Ortiz
    2. Vicente Escobedo
    3. Urbano Antillon
    (I don't count Khan because he already headlined cards before this)

    pryor was a sparring partner for howard davis jr .. he wooped his ass in sparring then got fired

    I didn't know that! Man, Davis was the only person who won the Gold Medal in that class but didn't win a world title belt.
