I had no idea about this. Look forward to watching the video at home. Boxing/Muay Thai background gives him a great striking base. He could literally go into the gym and start the grappling from day one and do it every day after that. Often I think strikers are too egotistical to pull away from the striking.

 

Impressive hand striking as you would expect from a guy with a boxing pedigree like this guy and his knees were impressive too. Even at 37 he could still do some damage in the octagon.

He looked good. He clearly had grappling knowledge. More than every top boxer in MMA except Jeremy Williams maybe. Mercer and Toney didn't have a clue. The Muay Thai meant he had knees and the boxing saw him have no fear with the hands.
