My reaction to F1 is very negative. I think the guys are in great shape, they've got great co-ordination, reaction time and even endurance. I think its very skilled and would be fun to do but it is not entertaining at all.

Too many laps, too little overtaking, lasts too long and its too repetative.

In boxing and other sports 99% of the time the participant wins or loses. In F1 all I hear about is so and so can't win in the car he's got. Plus the standards seem to change every year.

Anyone who finds F1 more entertaining than something like footie or combat has a different definition of entertainment than me.

each to their own mate i suppose.....

i love snooker but i also play snooker and i have since a young age and if you are into snooker you can appretiate the tension when watching it live on the tv, if you dont you just cant get the tension of whats playing out....but i can see why people think its boring.....you just have to pick up a cue and try to do the things they make look so easy to appretiate how hard it actually is.

Nah, cos whats the point in them sponsoring a team when they would be advertising a product that the audience already has, y'know?

It's like in cycling. Team Sky does what it says on the tin, and advertises Sky. If they hoovered up all the cycling rights, then in very basic terms, nobody outside of Sky customers see Team Sky.

Bluntly, you wouldn't advertise Sainsbury's in a Sainsbury's store, beacuse people are already shopping there. You advertise elsewhere. And to answer the initial question, this won't have any impact on their boxing budget-different pots of money.

Not sure what you mean? whats the point in Sky sponsoring a cycling team? compared to them sponsoring an F1 team?

Are you saying its just simply that sky dont show cycling? so they advertise?

It's sort of the last one, I haven't really worded it well. My point is, if Sky paid to show all the cycling that is available on BBC, ITV and Eurosport, it would be a waste to then spend loads of money sponsoring a team. Because the people that are watching Team Sky compete on TV would then already have Sky, and you are advertising to people that have already brought the product.

Whereas at the minute, the people watching Team Sky compete on TV don't neccesarily have Sky, so they are potential customers.

So my point in relation to F1 is that they wouldn't decide to show it because they sponsor a team. You would do one or the other, as there is no need to do both.

It's like I said in the last bit. Sainsbury's won't advertise their shop in the entrance, because people are already there. They spend their advertising money elsewhere to attract more customers. Hope that clears thinsg up, sorry if it doesn't.
