Should he retire, he has nothing to be ashamed of. For one night in 2008, he was the best LHW in the world and was one half of the most important fight in modern MMA. He has been an absolute pleasure to watch and is a tough SOB.
IDK...UFC usually doesn't make fights with guys coming off a L with a guy coming off a W. If he wants an exciting fight then why not give him a fight with Gustafsson. He would be a great measuring stick. Edit: Nevermind, I didnt follow my own post. Griffin just lost to Shogun and Gustafsson just destroyed Hamill and has a fight scheduled.
One of my favourites, honest hard working guy who always gave his best... And for anyone about to post the usual glass jaw joke tripe that seems to be so fashionable these days....when was the last time YOU were champion of the world....
because he is 2-0 against bonnar tito because they are 1-1 and that would be the rubber match and it will likely be tito's last fight.....and possibly forrests also.
Everything. I just think he's a horrendous fighter. Im not interested in his popularity. He's almost like the Ricky Hatton of MMA.
Same here. Good personality I suppose, but not a fighter I ever rated particularly highly. He managed to construct a pretty decent resume of wins so he obviously had some strengths, but overall I never felt he was a very effective or impressive fighter. Jack of all trades, master of none type of guy. Getting TKO'd by Keith Jardine was just embarrassing IMO.
His response when he got KO'ed by Keith Sardine was even worse. Like a petulant child that bought into his own hype. Im tired of hearing about such a hard worker he is. And how blue collar he is. So what. Iv never seen anything from him that made me think yeah this guy is a Mixed Martial Artist. I mean Bonnar Griffin was a pub brawl. Then you got Rogan calling that the Hagler Hearns of MMA?
Pretty much my thoughts. I acknowledge what he meant for the UFC went it first went mainstream, but beyond that I'm pretty meh about him. Lots of other fighters I'll be sad to see go before him.
Yeah, having "great cardio" doesn't make you a Mixed Martial Artist, and that was invariably the strength that would be highlighted by Joe Rogan and most other people whenever they spoke about Forrest. Fair enough, he gave Rampage a really tough fight, but for every good performance like that there was a stinker like allowing yourself to get punched into oblivion by Rashad.
