He gave us a great fight with Boner

And he somehow managed to beat two far superior fighters in Shotgun and Paige

And he gave us all a good laugh when he bolted out the building post Spider

    Haters gonna hate :-(

    Forrest:

    * Always turned up in shape

    * Would fight anyone

    * Always kept fighting hard until rendered unconscious

    * Beat TWO legends of the sport

    * Won the most important fight in MMA history

    * Worked to improve his skills throughout his career

    * Maximized the modest talent he had like VERY few fighters do. He made the most of his abilities and hung around at the top of the division for years while guys like scurla sat on their asses yelling about how he was useless.

I respect him. I never watched a Griffin fight and came away feeling like Forrest shortchanged me by putting in a half-assed effort. Can't say the same about many fighters with FAR more talent and accomplishments. I respect a guy like Forrest getting KOed in one round more than I respect a guy like BJ Penn running out of gas after one round. :bart

Scurla still remembers sitting in his living room with his dick in his hand ready to celebrate the start of Shogun Rua's dominance of the UFC. Only to see a TUF guy beat the **** out of him and submit him after he ran out of gas sometime during the first round.

He won the most significant fight in MMA history and was a UFC LHW champion who beat TWO Pride champions.

His loss to Jardine was five years ago. Forrest doesn't have the best chin and there is nothing he can do about that.

Aside from Jardine, in the UFC he has lost to Silva, Evans, Rua and Ortiz. Hall of famers all, with the possible exception of Rashad. Two of those men he holds victories over. That is a highly successful career for anyone, let alone a brawler like Forrest who has an average chin and is not a particularly naturally talented guy.

It doesn't make much difference to you, but you'll **** on him for it anyway.

And I don't recall you bitching too hard about a "fake premise" when Rampage was being introduced as a homeless street person. :yep

What it comes down to is that Forrest massively overachieved in his career, and when he got to the top he kept working hard, kept trying to improve, and kept putting it all out on the line. Win or lose he would fight anybody and not take a backward step, even when he knew he was up against a superior fighter. I respect that. :bart
