Nobody's talking about this fight. For all the hate talk on Mora over the past few years after Contender, I would've thought there would've been several threads hailing Forrest for finally ending the Latin Snake's train. But will it actually happen tonight? I say yes, in the middle rounds. Mora can be elusive, but he has never been in the ring with someone of Forrest's class. His only chance would be to pray that Forrest aged overnight after the Baldomir fight, or that his alleged pornstar girlfriend "drained" the life out of him.
I dont even think this fight should be the Main Event.. I think Williams vs. Quintana is way more Main event material then Forrest vs. Mora.
No one is talking about it because of all this Floyd bull****. But I do hope that Forrest/Mora is a good fight. Although, I don't see Mora having any chance of beating Forrest
I agree. But this is what happens when the only exposure to new fighters that the mainstream fan gets is on Network TV/Basic Cable. I bet if you asked 10 casual American sports fans on the street about these 4 fighters: 1. Forrest 2. Quintana 3. Williams 4. Mora More would be able to identify Mora than the other three. Why? Because the Contender did more for boxing the last three years than the sanctioning bodies/promoters/premium cable networks combined. And it's sad but true. A guy like Mora should never, EVER be more well-known than three current or former welterweight world champions, especially when one of them was once P4P #1 in the world.
Yes, this is true. And believe it or not, it would get boxing more pub because of ESPN's coverage of the Contender. You know for a fact they would try to get a return on their failed investment by squeezing out every second of airtime they could out of a "rags-to-riches/American Idol" story like that.
