It will be an interesting fight though. The loser pretty much bows out of championship contention for a long while, with the winner getting a shot at some potentially big match ups. This is a crossroads fight for both guys.
Yeah, it is a grat match-up, althought it wont be a good fight. Very interesting mach-up. When I think about it I think that Forrest should win. Baldomir“s best advantages was size and strength. But at light middleweight he has not those advantages. But somehow I have a feeling that Baldomir will come out very strong at the end of the fight. I am actually picking Baldomir to win by a close decision or a late stoppege.
im not saying the fight won't be competitive but seriously Baldomir is a rugged journeyman and Forrest is old and past it. They are fighting for a title when in fact this fight is an average undercard fight at best. Not enough skill in the ring for a titlefight.
They should've just given the title back to De La Hoya. At least that's what they did for John Ruiz after Roy Jones Jr beat him and then went back down to light heavyweight.
I actually hope Baldomir wins this fight, it will be a little poetic justice after the gift Forrest was given over Ike Quartey. I don't actually care personally, it is a complete joke that the winner of this fight will have a "championship" :tired
I'm just bumping this thread that I started before Forrest vs Baldomir so we can put trash like "Forrest vs Pavlik" into perspective.
DLH was Forrests mandatory but DLH knows that thats a tough fight with too small a payoff. Forrests has no other options but Baldomir. Forrest made Baldomir look so stuipid last fight swinging and missing and chasing Vernon, Baldomir was so frusterated and this fight will be the same. Vernon Forrest is better than people give him credit for.
You seem to be talking about them fighting again. If you are, I suggest looking at when this topic was created.
