First, lets stop making excuses for Clottey in his fight against Margarito. If we want to go that route, Margarito had a horrible camp coming up to that fight, was off on a long lay off, and had injured his ankle coming up to the fight, not to mention his hand that he injured during the fight. The point is that despite all of these variables, despite the adversity of things not exactly going his way for the first 4 rounds, he kept coming, applied the pressure, made adjustments and started whaling on Clottey's body, since that was the only thing Clottey was giving away that night. In the end, Clottey folded, he did not do enough, and if he felt his hand was bothering him that much, where he could not give a account of himself to win the fight, he should have not continued instead of risking to injure his hand further.

Secondly, Margarito is no Carlos Baldomir, and Forrest would not dominate Margarito in either his prime or present time. The closest opponent to Margarito (stylewise) that Forrest ever faced was Mayorga and he lost both times. Even at that, Mayorga is wilder brawler than Margarito. Margarito is more precise with his punches and is more constant with his pressure. Forrest is one of those type of boxers you would have to question their heart & mind in the ring; and, if there is a boxer to check you in that area it will certainly be Margarito. Forrest, in his prime, had the physical tools to beat Margarito, the question would come down to how he would and if he could handle Margarito's relentless pressure.

    I worded my response incorrectly.

It wasn't supposed to be a question.

Margarito beat the **** outta Clottey that fight.

    Bad joke.
You think of watch Mayorga did to him.
Margarito would **** him up big time.
Forest cant fight these kind of guys.
    They walk right through him.

I think it can be a good fight. Don't count out Forest though. He can win that fight. Margarito gets tired early too.

I think vernon still has a lot left in him and would outbox margo to a 12 round UD descision.

Have you seen Forrest's last few fights? Forrest's shoulder is healed. He would eat Margarito up and might even stop him.

At 147 Margarito mauls Vernon. . . at 154 its a close decision but I see AM outworking Vernon.

Still have vivid memories of Mayorga letting Forrest take free shots at him and Ricardo came away unscathed. Margarito's chin is at least in the same league.

Margarito's pressure would be too much for Vernon, IMO Margo gets a late TKO here!
