Not really as he already had a belt and was looking to unify. I think Beeston is saying when will Warren get a fighter of his up the WBC rankings and fight the champion rather than wait for the WBO title to be vacated and then 'miraculously' find one of his fighters ranked no.1 by the WBO and a euro stiff ranked at no.2 and get them to fight for the vacant belt.
if burns has any sense he will turn in down, no doubt he would of been the next defense anyway. also burns and foster are not ranked by the WBO in the top 15, its gotta be a top 15 ranked guy. frank will get options on the worst top 15 guy and if cook looses stick mitchell in with him.
I don't think the rankings matter to the WBO where a Warren fighter is concerned, after all, he keeps them in business.

It would be gutting for Foster to miss out on this. He is unlikely to get a proper shot at a title so hopefully he will get the fight. Whoever faces Cook will not be of a great standard so I have little problem with Foster. We know what to expect from Warren and the WBO.
