This is one of the top 5 matchups in history I would have loved to see. Who wins? Foster was more dominant at 175, but Spinks beat better opposition. Spinks was the more versatile technician, but Foster at 175 was IMO, the most devastating puncher in history.

I think Spinks would be favored, and I fully understand why, but I can't help but feel like Bob would eventually put Spinks to sleep.

I think Spinks lands more from the outside, due to him being awkward and busier.
I believe Foster's power came mostly when in an exchange. That's where Bob lands KO punches.

Unfortunately for Foster, Spinks won't be there to do that very often.

Spinks will be on the outside, jumping in and moving awkwardly laterally, throwing more and landing more.

Spinks does it every round until the limit, or Foster wilts for a late stoppage.

Besides the heavies Foster fought, he really never faced a LtHvy who could put him to sleep too. Foster always held the physical edge on his opponents. But Spinks had the height, and nearly the same reach, as Foster. Plus Spinks may have been the smarter of the two fighters. Spinks boxes some, and fights as necessary, to win an "upset" decision.

Spinks versatility and industiousness might even have him favourite these days but Fosters jab would be very hard to get around. One of the most underrated jabs ever.

You guys are somewhat overrating Spinks, or underrating Foster, one of the two. Spinks struggled with a few guys at 175 that Foster would have destroyed with ease.

You can't convince me that Jim Macdonald lasts 8 with Foster, and hurts him along the way.

Rondon was actually a quality fighter... Foster obliterates him like nothing.

Tiger wasn't a great light heavy, but he was still good enough at 175 to beat a lot of quality guys... Foster obliterates him like nothing.

Mike Quarry wasn't a great fighter, but he was a lot better than someone like Jim Macdonald... Foster nearly kills him.

Don't penalize Foster for being so dominant.

I think Bob wins from beginning to the brutal end, which is by Knockout. When, sometimes before the end of 15. Spinks was a great light heavyweight, but some fighters in division s are just special and Bob is one of them. I tell you this, , just like with Tiger, Bob would lift Dwight Braxton head with uppercut and decapitate him with the left hook. Inside 7. Foster was King at 175.

I don't think Foster would stop Qawi. But he'd hurt him enough to put Qawi in a shell, and he'd control the fight with his piston jab.

I recall the Ali Foster fight, Ali was cut the only time in his career by Bob and he had a mouse swelling up under his eye when he stopped Bob. If he could hit Muhammed Ali, he'd hit Michael Spinks. Bob by KO.

Concur. They could hit. Rondon was supposedly scared "chiteless" before the Foster unification fight, being Foster was totally bissed off.

Spinks, close unanimous decision. He would use his awkwardness to throw Bob off. They would shake each other to the core in many of those rounds, however.
