What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god!...........Foxy 01 is the obvious exception.Ha Ha.

Frazier is befuddled often early on and gives away several rounds. Like Mike, he knocks down Douglas in the middle rounds. Except, even if Douglas is basically saved by bell Frazier comes in and knocks him all over the ring in the next round, ultimately knocking him out cold.

Norton would have been somewhat similar, stepping it up in the middle rounds. It might have ended up being a majority decision for him, but a quite possible TKO.

Douglas in Tokyo was a second rate version of the Holmes who shut out Trevor Berbick. Iron Mike was quite simply (for whatever reason) not with it that night.

obviously Frazier would have been pressing and doing damage on the inside, he would hurt Douglas with body shots, I see Frazier having a bit more ring IQ too when it really counted, like when Douglas had Tyson on the ropes and Tyson threw a big uppercut and missed, I give Tyson a lot of credit for it because I think he was actually knocked out on the ropes for a second, but I think Frazier would have slipped out before he ended up against the ropes or he would have tied up to temporarily stop Douglas from being able to throw and started working the inside to even it out and back Douglas up, and at that point it would only be a matter of when he lands a left hook, I think the bigger problem for Tyson in the actual moment of the fight than any distractions or lack of training was that he thought he had knocked out Douglas, Frazier wouldn't have had such a gaffe, would have remained more composed and even more determined to finish Douglas

Is Tokyo Douglas really that good a boxer, or did he just shine for one night?
Tokyo Douglas is a peak boxer named James "Buster" Douglas.
Never before, and never since, has he boxed like that night.
On the other side is the undefeated Mike Tyson; 42:1 bookies' favorite, who already has a match against Evander Holyfield.
Mike Tyson prepares to defend his title by: visiting discos until late at night and drinking alcohol (or only alcohol?), consuming women, not training, or training at 10% capacity, his sparring partner knocks him down.
A fully motivated James "Buster" Douglas in never better shape against a completely unmotivated, and never worse Mike Tyson.
And that Mike Tyson almost knocked out James "Buster" Douglas.
James "Buster" Douglas showed his quality already in the next fight (or fights).
Someone who was in the right place at the right time has no chance against the best version of Joe Frazier.
