Frazier better be at this best, or he's losing a decision here imo. Fury is an excellent ring general, and when you have most of the physical advantages to go along with a gameplan... that is tough for anybody to overcome. Frazier could, if he was smokin, but if not I think he could very well lose a decision here.

I will stay out of the Frazier vs Fury fray for now, but I agree that the HW division has some good exciting prospects and potential.

With Fury Joshua and Wilder at the top there are 3 quality guys who could make some exciting and perhaps historic fights. Miller and Usyk and even Hrgovic hold promise as future tests. I am not a big fan of the HW division but agree that it as exciting now as it has been in some time.

Heres the thing. You had better be willing to DIE when you fought Frazier if you want to win.
Frazier would run Fury OVER. Fury has never seen a body attack like Fraziers .
I dont care how tall Fury is.
Frazier starts cranking that hook up to the BODY Fury falls.
and lets not forget Fury cant fight at a pace like Frazier.

See Buster Mathis Sr. Though Mathis was between 6'3" and 6'5" in height and close to 250 lbs, Frazier damn near killed him. And Mathis was a skilled Boxer unlike the just awkward Fury. Prime Frazier was able to consistently slip the jabs and right hands of the fastest heavy in history, would Fury even land on Frazier? And unlike Wilder, Frazier knew how to cut off the ring, and trap opponents on the ropes. By the 6th or 7th rd, his hips and sides battered and bruised his mobility will become limited, and their would be no place to hide. Frazier could fight a very fast paced fight for 15rds as he proved. Fury would become stationary his long arms and height a hindrance against the compact powerful hooks of Frazier. Frazier by late stoppage or cruise to unanimous dec.

It depends on the ref, and how Fury decided to clinch Frazier. Joe would have to get very close to land his hook to the head, and by giving up about 9" in height, combined with Fury's move away style, might not be able to land his hook enough.

I sort of like Frazier on points because I think he would be the aggressor.

That's what I was thinking. And Fury doesn't have the punching power to discourage Frazier.

Bingo, Fury would be breathing Joe Frazier all night, not that fencing match he and Wilder did, I doubt Fury could take the pace and Joe wears him out with a 14th round TKO

I don't see any meaningful comparison between Mathis and Fury. Fury was far more agile, controlled distance much better (look at how much time Mathis spent leaning over, head to head, against Frazier), has a much longer reach, and is far more elusive a target.

Could Fury hit Frazier?? Who couldn't? Ali tagged Frazier plenty. And the version of Ali who fought Frazier wasn't necessarily faster than Fury. He spent much of the fight flatfooted, loading up and winging hard punches at Frazier, and from what I recall when he did move, he didn't cover ground any more quickly than Fury did.

You don't think Joe would eventually get discouraged if he kept eating fast jabs and 1-2s from a much, much bigger man who constantly moved away before Joe could land any return fire?

If i had to pick one heavyweight to beat Fury it would be Joe Frazier . Tyson Fury is a spoiler. He doesn't let you get set to land hard shots . I think the way to beat him is to swarm him . I think Joe Frazier would have more success against Fury than Lennox Lewis or Vitali klitscho

Frazier bulldozed through Ali's punches all night and I don't think that Fury hit any harder. And I think sooner or later Frazier will close distance and start landing to the body.
