Given the same set of circumstances, how much does everyone reckon Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier would get payed for their first fight had it been held today ? Mind boggling,is n't it ?

    They'd be low paid.

The sport has moved on. Evolved. Modern nutrition everything.
Those two would be fortunate to fight a 6-rounder on a Klitschko undercard.

frazier would be in the cruiser divison where he still had some physical advantage...
Ali could probably stay in the cruiser division too if he weight drained a little bit (like Haye)

Nobody cares about the cruiser division for some stupid reason though.
So in the end, nobody would care I think.

Okay..................Let's assume that Muhammad and Joe would weigh the same as a lot of modern heavies. With minimal loss of speed. If any at all.

Joe frazier would transform into a bigger, badder and meaner David Tua.
Not sure about Ali but maybe he would transform into a Vitali like arm puncher but with the Ali dancing around.

Nobody would know, but especially frazier would be mean.

They would have had the "modern" nutrition too, minus the drug enhancers.

What did Tyson make at his peak?
What about De La Hoya, Mayweather and Pacquiao?
Whatever they have made in their highest pay was would be give us a good idea of what Ali and Frazier would make if that fight was made today.

if the figures bandied about mayweather and pacquaio are to be believed (in excess of 30 mill +) then we'd have to contact NASA to calculate what Ali v Frazier is worth

If the Younger Ali was around he would be the highest paid athlete in the world,No one before or since in the boxing world has had that sort of charisma.

another way of looking at it is to look at what was the highest paid combined purse prior to FOTC, compare it to the $5mill ali and joe split, then look at the highest paid purse to date, multiply that by whatever the percentage difference of the 1st scenario.

When the fight was announced $2.5mil was kind of an unthinkable number at the time. And it turned out they took a bad deal, could have made a lot more. So whatever would be an unthinkable number today would probably be about right. Also, if the circumstances were the same today and they fought, it would probably be the biggest thing EVER!

it would have been over 12 rounds and if not a draw then a highly disputed decsion, whichever way it went
